For dataserver messages, 2-bytes should probably be dedicated to the number of words in the message. This could be a useful check for data integrity further in the datastream.
This is because the wrong buffer busy flags are being cleared.
If a system subscribed to the dataserver crashes while there is a message in the ZMQ send buffer, that message will block other channels from being read out until the subscriber is reattached or the dataserver is restarted. This is bad, but rare.
