Code style: black

A python wrapper for the MangaDex API V5. It uses the requests library and all the aditional arguments can be viewed in the Official Mangadex Documentation

Instaling the API wrapper module

PyPI

pip install --Upgrade mangadex

Installing local

In the mangadex directory type

pip install .

Getting the latest manga chapters

This is called mangalist in the documentation

This is a CoverArt method that returns the cover image url of that object

Private Calls

Login

Username and password combo-only logins are deprecated as MangaDex shift to OAuth. Personal clients are needed alongside it. #26

Method to login to the website

>>> auth.login(username = USERNAME, password = PASSWORD, client_id = clientId, client_secret = clientSecret)

It is recomended that you add this values to your environment variables and use text input for client-facing solutions for security reasons.

Fix testing workloads

Testing for this package is vital for checking if the code is working. As of right now, there are only 2 usable workflows based on configuration, namely Python Package using Conda and Python application, with the latter workload failing it's past tests. Furthermore, upon close testing of the development branch(this repo) and the actual package to be working only on Python 3.8.

Tests Done:

  1. Github Actions
  2. Bare Metal fresh install of Ubuntu 20.04 with Python 3.8 and 3.10 w/ and w/o updates to both system and Python, w/ or w/o venv setup, separately.* **

*After close checking, the default Python version used by 20.04 are 2.7 and 3.8 for the system functions, esp. apt package manager. When tried uninstalling 3.8 as to avoid conflict with 3.8, several problems occurred within apt.
** When installing Python, I used deadsnake's PPA
