Just ran into this assertion failed: 4 <= buf.len() when decoding an integer from a column that was accidentally set as a varchar in the MySQL DB. Are there instructions on how to report these better? Wouldn't mind doing a PR or two :)

Ah I suppose I was a little ambiguous there, is there anything specific to keep in mine when making a PR to fix these? Or is the change to bool decoding in that PR a pretty good example?

Nothing that comes to mind. Obviously should have at least a test for the happy path and maybe one or two for the unhappy paths if you're feeling adventurous. At the very least it should error instead of panicking when passed an empty slice.

#8 should prevent 99% of this from happening

With #8 complete, most of this should be handled. If someone runs into or finds a specific issue, please open that and we'll investigate/test/fix.
