This post won't show in the feed.

After clicking on the post the image will be shown.

When you long pressing on a list item to get the context menu, the separator of the current item is also visible. This looks a bit off.

When opening a post then the tab bar turns black when scrolling to the bottom.

Also there is black line above the tab bar on the search tab.

I don't know if the post only shows a preview, and the full image needs to be downloaded for zooming in. I know in Apollo it would download image in full resolution when I tap to open it.

Go to a post with no comments. Make a comment. The new comment doesn't show up unless you pull down to refresh. This doesn't happen if there are already comments in the post. In that case the new comment shows up right away.

Saved posts are indicated with a strikethrough icon. That is not really intuitive. Common expectation is that the saved state is indicated by a solid/filled icon, possibly in color.

The UI should show the state, not the action.

The (great!) new account chooser should auto close upon tapping an account. Not necessary to confirm with "Close".

Add a feature where, if viewing a feed, tapping the "Post" tab icon brings you back to the home screen. That would be a shortcut to "< Home" from top left.

Post previews sometimes do not wrap paragraphs for the preview text, instead they clip the first lines of several paragraphs and add an ellipsis.

Example:

The first preview wordwraps as expected, two and three show the reported clipping.

Fix: consistently wrap text in previews.

On nearly all pages swiping to go back, stutters and is laggy.

I made a video to show this, but I don't know if this behaviour is visible on the video:

Swiping will crash the app, also as you can see the boundaries of the the cell itself change while swiping. Similar boundaries "changes" happened to me at other places as well.

When clicking on a notification, the related post opens, but it doesn't bring you immediately to the related comment.
On posts with a lot of comments one has to scroll a lot to find the related comment. Instead clinking on the notification should make the related comment directly visible.

When I try to swipe a comment or a post, and start this while my finger is on a clickable label, the swiping gesture won't work.

Here two examples of the areas which aren't "swipeable":

For Communities without icon, the list in "Home" is visually not aligned. Having a mix of Communities with and without icons looks unclean.

Use a default icon or an icon consisting of the capitalized channel name first letter to align.

For me, the app freezes when showing this post: https://lemmy.world/post/1312946 and scrolling down. The app is responsive until scrolling to the bottom of the post. Then it freezes and requires a force-quit.

The comments are not displayed. The app freezes right before that.

This is the only post i fond so far with this issue. Will look out for more.

Support multi communities (or community groups). Offer a user interface for configuring a number of communities under a common name/label. That name would be app/device local only.

In the Traverse tab, show multi communities in an iwn section and treat them like any community, i.e. offer to view, but with posts from all included communities.

This feature would be great to aggregate similar communities across instances.

For additional insight: Apollo had this feature.

When swiping a post or a comment the content of the specific item scales weirdly.

I clicked on a Lemmy link inside a Lemmy post, and after a few seconds the loading indicator starts spinning, without any interaction.

Once unblurred, there is no way to reblur them. Either only show them unblurred when opened, or add way to reblur them again

The padding to between the community image and the screen border seems to be a bit off.

Not sure if I should report that, but here we go...

I noticed that scrolling through posts is not always 100% smooth. Sometimes the list is stuck a bit. Not much but noticeable.

Experiencing this on an iPhone 11 Pro, on iOS 16.5.1.

I know i kind of reported this in #13 already and appreciate the update, but feel this still does not resolve the issue.

1. The option to resize is offered as error message, with a visibility timeout. Its really difficult to even read the error message.

2. The Resize dialog is cryptic. It does not say what unit the resize value is. No idea what a sensible value is. The 5.000 default applies so much compression that the result is not useable.

3. The app should resize automatically to the max size supported by the instance being posted to. Not sure if possible to query that value from instances but that would be the best user experience, i think.

The navigation bar won't show on the home page. After a few moments the bar or its background Color becomes visible.

One of the lastest updates introduced post stats (#upvotes, #comments, age) rendering in full liste (i.e. not compact) with a much smaller font.

Assuming this is a side effect with introducing compact posts, I suggest, for full posts, to go back to the larger font. That looks more balanced and supports the intended full view.

Add a button in the bottom right of the screen when viewing a post to scroll the page down to the next root comment when short pressed, and to scroll up to the previous root comment when long pressed.

Apollo had that, overlayed to the comment tree. Super helpful for large comment trees.

Can’t log in to sh.it just.works, where I have 2FA enabled. Logging in to other instances where I don’t have 2FA is working

In my opinion, the swipe gesture should last a bit longer until the downvote arrow appears (the dragging of the cell should have a longer distance until the switch to the downvote appears).

This is of course just a personal preference, but I think for the most apps I use this is the case.

It seems that the current Multi Account functionality is bound to a single instance, the one used for the first account login.

Enhancement: for additional accounts allow logins to other/separate instances.

I get an "Image too large" error when attenoting to post an image. This is for photos from the device camera (iPhone 11 Pro)

Depending on the image store provider, the app should offer to shrink the image through compression or resizing.

Add a feature to block communities from showing up in All and Local.

I was typing a comment and when pressing enter to create a new line inside of the text, the cursor will always jump to the end of the text.
This also happens on creating a new post.

Text post previews show text fragments, a line of text is clipped horizontally. Example screenshot:

In this example, the fractional text after line 4 should not been shown (and the widget bounding box be a bit smaller).

Seems that the image viewer does not allow to zoom in.

It is possible to two-finger-pinch but the image jumps back to original size when lifting fingers.

Additionally, support for double tap to zoom would be great.

Support a native video player in the feed of the app instead of opening the browser, for posts which contain Video-URLs. Probably the same for GIFs.

In addition, uploading videos (to?) would be nice, too. But to my knowledge, the Lemmy backend doesn't support video upload …

Add a share button as a menu item for communities.

Right now pinned posts do not have a "pinned" indicator. Add such an indicator (a pin icon in the top right of the post?).

As soon as I take my finger off, they go back to the unzoomed size. I want to be able to zoom in and look around.

If I could hide posts I have upvoted or opened from the feed, it would help me see new content. This is different from the Lemmy account level settings which hides read posts everywhere which is a pain if I want to check my history.

On that topic, if there is a way to mark a post read (similar to emails) either by swipe or button, I would be able to hide a post without having to vote or open it.

I get a "Lemmy Request Failed, Refresh?" error on every post. Thus not able to see comments. Happens on two accounts on different instanced.

When viewing an image in the image viewer, the share sheet cooies the image source, i.e the URL it was loaded from.

Change this so that the actual image is copied to the clipboard.

Would also be great if a long tap on the image would copy it directly to the clioboard, without opening the sharesheet.

The user name tap area on posts in the post list is too large. One accidentaly ends on the user page when wanting to show the post.

Suggest to limit the tap target area to the actual user name.

Support cross posting like the web interface does. In my understanding, cross posts will be handled differently in the feed.
