ledger-wallet-ripple's Issues

Cann't see my balance by wss://s2.ripple.com on Ledger

Hi there.
I was having issues installing Ledger ripple app and I installed version 1.1.1 and it fixed it for me.
I changed the node to wss://s2.ripple.com, but it couldn't retrieve my balance and transactions information.
So I looked it up and changed the address to wss://s1.ripple.com and it's showing my balance now.
What difference is there between s1 and s2?
Should I change it back to s2? if so, how can I get it to work with s2 since it has difficulty retrieving my information?
Even when set to s1.ripple.com, though successfully retrieving my information, the Retry button at the top right corner keeps spinning. Is that normal?
Thanks in advance

Cannot open ripple wallet on windows

Hey amougel - i have tried each of the ripple exe versions and am still unable to open the wallet on windows. Will this prevent be from transferring xrp to my device? if so, is there an alternative wallet you recommend in the meantime? Need to get it off the exchange

Ledger Ripple app not working on Windows 10

Hi All.

I recently bought a Ledger Nano S, installed Bitcoin and Ethereum chrome apps with no problem, updated the firmware to new 1.4.2 version. Everything is working fine.
I tried to install Ripple windows app, the installation goes smoothly. But when I try to open the app, it gives me a generic windows errror stating
"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.
I'm running Windows 10 Version 1709 Build 16299.371 (latest fall creators update) and I can confirm OS is running fine. I'm an IT guy, I think OS is running ok.
I tried installer 1.0.3 x64 and x86 versions, i tried with Chrome closed, AV closed, but still no luck.
Here's a screenshot.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Ethereum Wallet v 0.8.10 shows wrong QR-code

I've noticed that Ethereum Wallet v. 0.8.10 shows wrong QR-code. It swaps cases of some symbols. ETH sent to QR-code address generated by the wallet SW never received the payment sent from the other address (Coinbase one).

Ripple Wallet App Not Working with Windows 10

Reopening this issue as it isn't resolved. I received your email and responded:
Greetings,

Thanks for getting back with me.

I’ve tried all three of your suggestions below…prior to sending in the trouble report…but no luck. I’ve even tried running the app and device on two other machines…all Windows 10, as that is all I have…but with no luck. I've also ensured my anti-virus (Bitdefender) is disabled...still no luck.

At this point, I have my XRP sitting on an exchange and can’t get it to a safe wallet. May have to set up and use an online digital wallet as a temporary solution (to move XRP off the exchange)…until I can use my two Ledger Nano S devices.

Please let me know what other options I have. Can you do a remote login and help? Would appreciate any help you can provide…I’m feeling a bit exposed and at a dead end.

Subject: Re: [LedgerHQ/ledger-wallet-ripple] Ripple Wallet App Not Working with Windows 10 (#14)

Hi,
The x64 version of the ledger wallet ripple has indeed some compatibility issues but there is no report of issue about the x86 yet.
If you see the window of the app displaying, this means the launch was successfull and now you have another of the following issues:
• You have the Ledger Manager, Bitcoin wallet, Ethereum Wallet or Electrum running in the background
• The ripple app on your device has the setting "Browser support" turned on (which should be turned off in order for the app to be able to work)
• Try another USB port and cable
If you have issue with the synchronization (incorrect balance, missing transactions and so), make sure you clicked on the "two arrows" on the top right corner of the app after launch. However, because of the recent events, the Ripple node wss://s2.ripple.com (which we do not control but use by default) has difficulties responding and thus, prevent our wallet from synchronizing. You can change the node you want to use, by unplugging your device and clicking on "change node" at the bottom of the opening screen.

Transaction Fee in Advanced Mode

It would be good to fill current fee in Advanced Mode similarly as it is in Simple Mode, but with option to change. Current fee level should be always displayed and warning should be written when fee is too low. Had a lot of time to ponder on this after accidentally sending transaction with 10 drops fee...

Doesn’t recognise Ripple app being open on device

With the device connected via USB, unlocked, and the Ripple app open on the device, this application just sits there on the following screen:

ledger-wallet-ripple

Other wallet apps, such as those for BTC and ETH (note that these are Chrome apps, not native like this one) detect their respective applications being open as expected.

Device: Ledger Wallet Nano S
Client: Ledger Wallet Ripple, version 1.0.2 (downloaded from this release)
OS: Mac OS 10.12.6

transfer not found

I sent was transferring ripple from nano s to my exchange and after a few of the issues like no funds available it went through. It never came to y account and when I click the transaction under last operations it shows transaction not found.

How to build and run?

How does one build and run this package? sbt build generates something, but then what?

Thank you.

Ripple Wallet App Not Working with Windows 10

Greetings,

I found out I'm not alone with this issue, as several online discussions address problems running the native program (ledger wallet for ripple) on Windows (I'm running Windows 10). Basically, the app doesn't work.

I've tried several software installs, including both the "setup_ledger_wallet_ripple_win_x64" and "setup_ledger_wallet_ripple_win_x86" versions. For the x64 version, which downloads via the applicable Ledger webpage link, the app doesn't come up at all. For the x86 version, the app display a window, but it doesn't sync/communicate with the Ledger Nano S after starting Ripple on the Ledger Nano S device.

I've turned off anti-virus, uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted, etc., but nothing. It doesn't work and there doesn't appear to be anything online to help people address the problem.

Hoping you can provide assistance. Thank you for your time.

Scott

New Release - x64 vs x86

Greetings,

Received the email notification about the fix for Windows 10 (and other issues). Great job and many thanks!

Please let me know if the fix applied to the x64 version, x86 version, or both versions.

I'm excited to finally start using my Ledger Nano S! Appreciate your help.

Vulnerability to Ledger Security Flaw

Hi. I've just installed this wallet and I see that no option to show recipient adress on Ledger Nano S screen is implemented.

In this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vfH5Z0RzYA a guy explains why this is so important. There is a simple hack that can replace your oryginal adress with hacker's adress and the only option to be 100% sure that shown adress is really your adress, is to print the adress on Ledger Nano S screen (by clicking on the monitor button in case of bitcoin-ledger-wallet - 6:20 on the video).

Ripple wallet .pkg will not open

I donwload several times the Ledger Wallet Ripple. The .pkg will not open, over and over it stays by "controle" and nothing happend. I use OS X El Captain version 10.11.6 so that isn't the isue.

My Ledger wallet Bitcoin was not a .pkg file and was no problem to install.

Anybody an answer on this?

Thanks in advance for your answer

Ripple Wallet Chrome OS no dl link

Hi trynig to install the Ledger Wallet Ripple on my Chrome OS, but it seems there is no download link. Is it not available for Chrome OS?

x64 is not a valid architecture

Hello, I'm having real trouble to install the 64 bit RPM package in my Fedora. The architecture says x64, but that does not exist, and of course DNF protests and won't let me install it. Not sure if it was meant to be x86_64 (for Intel/AMD based processors) or aarch64 (for ARM processors), both 64 bit architectures, but in any case, x64 does not exists and won't let me install it. In my case, I'm trying to install it in a x86_64 processor.

New HW Ripple Wallet Not Working

Greetings,

A quick note to let you know I tried installing the new HW Ripple Wallet release (both the x64 and x86 versions) and had no luck on my Windows 10 machine. Note I have to Ledger Nano S units, and they both fail to work with the desktop software.

I followed all the recommended practices...Ledger Manager not running, browser support set to "No", anit-virus turned off, etc.

Ledger Wallet Ripple not working(neither x86 setup nor x64)

I am running windows 7.

I have tried both the setup files. The nano s device has "browser support = NO" by default. AV is disabled. After double clicking the app nothing happens. Although task manager shows a process for ripple wallet, which I have to kill manually.

The app is not opening at all.

Please help out.

Thanks!

Wallet fails to send funds.

When I try to send funds from OSX ledger wallet, the loading icon starts spinning for around 30s, then I get "An unexpected error occured" message and transaction won't get through. I'm using an advanced mode to supply a tag to the transaction. The only place where it's being raised is

SnackBar.error("send_perform.unknown_title", "send_perform.unknown_message").show()

I'm using 1.0.3 wallet.

Stuck loading nw.js

When i open the ledger app it stays stuck loading on the nw.js page.

I was wondering what's going wrong?

Add trust line for Ripple Wallet

Hi there
It would be great if there was the possibility to add a trust line and new tokens to the wallet.
This due to the fact that new tokens get on the XRP ledger (e.g. www.allvor.org).

Regards, I.

How to build and run? (continued)

Thanks for your quick reply @amougel

I am opening another issue because GitHub doesn't allow me to re-open #10

I don't see any folder build/target/chrome-app, so I suppose you mean target/chrome-app. I tried running the following:

$ sbt bulid
$ nw target/chrome-app/

But what I get is a window with a message saying

Invalid package

There is no 'package.json' in the package, please make sure the 'package.json'
is in the root of the package.

Can you share some more instructions? I can then write them down in a README file.

Wallet crashes on start

Started having this issue today. On double clicking the desktop icon, or the original app, I get "The application was unable to start correctly".

  • I uninstalled and installed several times (version x64_1.0.3) to no avail.
  • I tried adding the app to Windows Defender whitelist, just in case - didn't help

I'm on Windows 10, with Java version 1.8.0_171.

Please let me know if I can provide any more details.

Does not install on Debian stable

Hello,

The error when trying to install this on Debian stable is as following:
Dependency is not satisfiable: libfontconfig1 (>= 2.11.94)

Current version of libfontconfig1 installed on Debian stable is 2.11.0-6.7+b1.

Is a newer version of libfontconfig1 essential or will it work with version 2.11.0-6.7+b1 as well? If it is the latter, please make the necessary changes in the code so that Debian stable users can install and use this as well.

Thanks.

Cant send xrp

Im a user and when trying to type xrp send address symbols dont type . Pasting address does not work. When scanning QR code "ripple:" is automatically added to address and wont allow to delete, backspace nor cut out. If left as is invalid address is produced.

Ledger ripple wallet 1.0.3 shows 0 XRP balance most of the time

Wallet shows 0 XPR balance most of the time and refuses to send transactions because of insufficient funds. Sometimes it comes into its senses, but it's hard to say what triggers that. I tried plugging the ledger nano s at different time, reinstalled wallet more than 10 times. The log file exported by application is empty.

The app name is displayed as "nwjs" in Finder (macOS)

The latest Ledger Wallet Ripple app (1.0.3) name is displayed as "nwjs" in Finder on macOS.
I found it happens when my macOS is non-English environment.

I think it should be fixed as soon as possible because users (especially non-English speaking users like Japanese) may think the new version is malformed.

It looks information in localized string files is incorrect.
(e.g. macOS app bundle > Contents > Resources > ja.lproj > InfoPlist.strings)

I think "nwjs" is wrongly assigned to CFBundleDisplayName.
CFBundleDisplayName = "nwjs";

When I changed it to "Ledger Wallet Ripple", the app name is displayed correctly.

Could you please check this issue? Thanks so much for developing great hardware and app.

My environment:

  • Ledger Wallet Ripple package: ledger_wallet_ripple_osx_1.0.3.pkg
  • OS: macOS 10.13.1
  • Language: Japanese

Raspberry Pi Ripple Wallet

Have downloaded and installed the 32 bit deb file for the Ripple wallet but when launching, you get nothing. The sand timer appears on the cursor, then nothing. As far as I can see, nothing is happening in the task manager. Any thoughts?

Deposit tags

Some services require you to to provide a deposit tag along with the recipient address to send them money, but I don't see how to do this using this wallet. How can it be done?

Installation without issues. However when I want to start the app:
/usr/bin/Ledger\ Wallet\ Ripple

Dec 20 08:54:36 step /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-x-session[1591]: /bin/bash: line 1: Ledger: command not found

It's like it doesn't add the "\" for the entire application name when starting, so it tries to start:
/usr/bin/Ledger

Which doesn't seem to work. Anyone any idea?

Sending error message

Can't seem to be able to send XRP out of my wallet. Just stuck on:

Please wait

and should be validated soon.

unable to start "/usr/bin/Ledger" after installation

i am using xubuntu and installed the deb64.

installation seemed to work fine, but when i want to start the application via GUI, i get the following system prompt:

Befehl konnte »/usr/bin/Ledger Wallet Ripple« nicht ausführt werden / Kindprozess »/usr/bin/Ledger« konnte nicht ausgeführt werden (Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden)

i try to translate it to english:

Command »/usr/bin/Ledger Wallet Ripple« could not be executed / Child process »/usr/bin/Ledger« could not be be executed (Could not find file or directory)

do you have any ideas what i can do?

thanks in advance ♥ ♥ ♥

Ripple secret seed generation

Upon review of the ledger blue app for ripple, it seems as though you are generating m/44'/144'/0'/0/0 and using the private key for that key as the direct private key of the ripple address.

This makes it difficult to export the wallet and reuse in outside APIs (like rippled) because they use a Secret seed (which afaik is 16 bytes of random data encoded in ripple's special base58check) and from that seed Ripple uses its own special algorithm to generate the private key that becomes the public key and eventually the ripple address.

afaict ledger seems to be using the private key directly, and not going through the ripple secret derivation algorithm... so it would be impossible to export the key in the format that rippled accepts.

Perhaps:

  1. take the private key 32 bytes from the derived key and bytes[:32] xor bytes[32:] to get the 16 bytes for encoding into the ripple secret.
  2. derive the private key and other info according to ripple standards.
  3. On your github explain how the derivation from BIP39 phrase to the ripple secret works so that anyone who wants to recover can easily do so using rippled or other wallets (which all take ripple formatted secret only as import input)

People already using it would be out of luck, but if the wallet objects have versioning it shouldn't be too hard.
