I have thought about this. But I'm not sure I'm comfortable with Slop installing something even with :auto_complete => true
, as it gives the end user no choice. This is definitely something I'd love to implement, it certainly needs to be done right, though. I'm rebuilding Slop in the v3
branch, so perhaps I can target this feature for that release, or at least have a play around with it before I finalize version 3.

Yeah, good point - my intent with :auto_complete
was to give the user the choice, but obviously I was looking through a wrong-way mirror.. perhaps if the user opted in with export SLOP_AUTO_COMPLETE=true
, any slop-based (or slop-wrapped!) tool would add autocompletions on first run.

After more thought, I think this is beyond the scope and simplicity of Slop. If anyone else would like to see this and has any input I would still be happy to hear it, but I'll be closing this for now. Thanks for the input, @jaylevitt
