autoraise's Issues

Option to focus, but not autoraise?

I like having the focus following the mouse, but prefer not to have the focused window be raised automatically. Can this be implemented, or is do the MacOS APIs not allow that?

Conflict with PopClip

Hello -

First, thank you very much for creating an interesting and useful app. I installed it today and enjoyed its functionality until I discovered it interfered with PopClip's functionality. I'm posting this just to make you aware of the issue, but if you want more detail I'm happy to provide it.

All the best and again, thank you.

Delay time does not get saved after closing/restart

hello,

I wanted to change the delay for auto raise activating the windows under the cursor from 40 ms to 200 ms. That works, but the settings won't get saved for the next system start up. I use Big Sur 11.7.1 (latest).

So I'm not a coder guy but I didn't found a file where the delay time was mentioned.

Thanks!

Contributing to the UI

@lhaeger
Hi Lothar,

I would like to contribute to your repository (in particular updating everything to AutoRaise v3.5).
However, I can't create a pull request because your repository has the same name as mine.
This prevents me to fork yours as it already exists under my github account (sbmpost/AutoRaise)

I tried various workarounds for this, but it seems github simply does not let me do what I want.
I see three options to solve this:

  1. Maybe you can rename your repository to something like AutoRaise-UI ?
  2. Or we could make your code a subfolder in sbmpost/AutoRaise? (with appropriate Credits/Copyright notices of course)
  3. Or maybe you can make me a co-developer of your repostory?

My preference would be either option 1 or 2 in order to avoid confusion between the 'original' AutoRaise and its UI.

Warp to center doesn't seem to work

Hi, looks like "Warp to center" option doesn't work. When it's active in options nothing happens. I'm on MacBook Pro 16 M1 and with Monterey 12.3 Beta. Thx.

Feature request: Installer that does not require Xcode / MacPorts

Thanks for creating this GUI.

Just a little feature suggestion...

To run this simple program I have to download MacPort, which requires Xcode. That takes up 12GB of space on my machine just to have access to this simple utility.

The installation process is also a little convoluted. People wanting a GUI vs the command-line version are normally a little less advanced (like me) and therefore an easy to install compiled app would be prefered.

Overall I've very happy to find a GUI version, but I think providing a simple to use installer would give it more uptake :)

How to make app bundle ?

The install page tells:

Simply clone, open and build this project in XCode.
Like upstream XCode will first build the AutoRaise binary by running

g++ -O2 -Wall -fobjc-arc -o AutoRaise AutoRaise.mm -framework AppKit

and include it when finally building the Launcher app bundle (AutoRaise.app).
To install copy AutoRaise.app into the /Applications folder and/or the AutoRaise binary to e.g. /usr/local/bin .

But when I run the compile command, no Autoraise.app bundle is created. How can I create it ?
I have macOS BigSur 10.16.5 and Xcode 12.5.
