This is an Obsidian Vault that demonstrates my strategy for managing blockers on a number of independent projects. To browse this Vault, download it to your computer, then open it as a Vault in Obsidian. You can copy the templates from this Vault into your own vault and begin using them.
First, you will need to install the [[Dependencies]] and [[Templates]] from this vault into your own.
The core of this system is the "issue." This represents a problem that you've had while working on something. To make a new issue, you'd create a new note in the "Notes" folder (See [[Keyboard Shortcuts]]), give it an appropriate name, then run "Insert Template" and select the "[[Issue]]" template from the list.
You'll notice that it's applied the #issue tag to the note, and added the related-to field to the top of the note. This field holds a list of links to other notes that this issue is related to. If you're having an issue with, for example, [[Rust Ownership & Borrowing]] while working on an [[Encabulate Performance Optimization]] project, you might include links to the borrow checker note and the project note, as shown in the [[Handling Ownership When Removing Clone]] issue note.
When you've reached the solution of an issue you must WRITE IT DOWN in the associated issue note, so that you can find your solution in the future if you encounter a similar problem. You should then add the #issue/solved tag to the note, so that the issue moves from the "Issues" section to the "Solved Issues" section in its associated pages. To see what a solved issue looks like, take a look at [[Handling Ownership When Removing Clone (solved)]].
