p2003_mimir-prototype3's Issues

More Breakout Pins

When dealing with issue like battery monitoring, it has been quite hard to test other pins. Having additional breakout pins would be useful for experimenting and testing out other hardware issues. The current VCC, GND, SCL and SDA are great but require soldering under the module since the WiFi antenna is too close. Could be placed further back to allow for the female pins to line up flush with the board

Battery Monitoring

With the analog pin reading GPIO 12 there is an issue when using the WiFi module as GPIO 12 is part of the ADC2 set. Have tried to circumnavigate this use by attaching to GPIO 39, but there is an additional level of resistance so the calculation Is off. In the next hardware revision will need to reorganize the GPIO connections to make sure nothing is on ADC2.

CCS811 Voltage Supply Issue

Have not been able to get readings off the CCS811 as there seems to be an error with the voltage supply. The first issue was with having to set GPIO 33 to LOW in order to read the address, which was in the documentation, but after that, there was still this issue with the resistance. Might be related to to the resistors on board or maybe to the wiring. Will wait till I get a breakout board for the CCS811 and then redesign the circuitry to match what works.

NeoPixel First LED

When the Wifi module is on there are signals being sent via the GPIO 25 causing the first LED to light up and ignore commands. Would be a similar issue to the battery monitoring that I need to make sure the GPIO Pins are not receiving ghost signals from the WiFi Module

PULL UP Resistors on I2C

Currently, there are two 10K ohm resistors on the SDA and SCK lines. While this might not be an issue with fewer I2C slaves, this might be a root issue for things like the CCS811 not working correctly. Recommend to increase the resistance to 100K to test out the effect on the signal. Would also need to research how best to calculate the overall resistance and optimize it overall.

BH1715 Not Working

Have had several issues relating to the placement and reading of the BH1715. The first issue was that it is very easy to bridge the connections, resulting in distorted I2C signals or bridging the VDD to GRD. Not a very good solder mask or the component is just a little temperamental. With the success of the VEML6030 and the TEMT600 it might be an idea to shift to one of these instead. Will need to do a cost analysis to see which is better.
