timeline's Introduction

Timeline

... aims to display Google Calendar events on a linear timeline.

Getting Started

  1. git clone git://github.com/lowerkey/timeline.git
  2. run index.html in Google Chrome.

Current Development/Next Steps

  • This project could use a github page displaying the current work.
  • Other than that, the next step will be to load Google Calendar events and display them as lines above the timeline.
  • After that, adding new events through this interface, something like clicking and dragging the mouse.

Compilation

coffee -c -b CanvasDrawing.coffee

Snapshot Demo

Best viewed in Google Chrome because of the HTML5 Slider element. For your consideration: http://lowerkey.github.com/timeline/

timeline's Issues

ScaleProvider

Currently, the Markmaker is responsible for knowing where to place marks. The MarkMaker should only concern itself with drawing marks to the screen. The calculation (and with it the parameters) regarding at what position the marks should rest with a ScaleProvider. This ScaleProvided is updated once per draw cycle, or window size update. The ScaleProvider needs only be instantiated once per CanvasDrawing. This way, other components, such as a StreakMaker can access the same information.
