snipeit-in-docker's Issues

Backup function fails

First it was failing because the PHP container didn't have Zip installed, but that's been fixed.

Current issue is that the backup function relies on mysqldump which isn't present in the PHP container. The PHP container only communicates with the MySQL container over 3306.

What is the solution? Preferably one that could allow for database portability in the future?

APP_KEY stays the same

I have an APP_KEY set in Snipe's .env file, which does not get regenerated when building the docker images, since the app is in production mode. It would be nice if it did.

It's not that simple, however - it can't regenerate APP_KEY if the user specifically set it.

Just something to think about.

Backup shortcomings

The Backup function creates a SQL Dump from the current database.

It also appears to create a directory structure to store images that have been uploaded, but those directories are empty. Not sure if that's due to a permissions issue, or because backup doesn't actually capture that.

Also, not sure how to go about importing the backups; the file selection dialogue doesn't seem to want to import the zip file that's created in the backup process.
