material-theme's Issues

Jekyll-paginate depreciated

Jekyll-paginate has been depreciated in jekyll 3.x and therefore this theme won't build without a workaround (not a difficult one, but still).

Jekyll 3.8 configuration gems error

Hi guys,
I've installed your theme using Jekyll 3.8 but in the config the gems section is no more supported. So must be replaced with plugins

Would you be okay with me making a Hugo Port of this theme?

Hugo is the StaticGen currently in second place to Jekyll in number of active users.

I'm currently using it and I love your theme, so wondered if you'd be okay with me porting it?

For personal use, but I would like to have it show in the Themes Showcase with Copyright pointing back to this theme. With your permission.

It's more structured than Jekyll (with strongly defined trees of heirarchy for layouts and part files) but otherwise rather similar except for different syntax.

Increase paragraph's width

Hello,

I'm testing our theme and by default, I find the width of the text to be too narrow (margins are too big). What would I need to change in order to increase the width (decrease the margins)?

Sorry for asking such an introductory question but I've never handled these kind of files.

Weird window behaviour and bullet point support

Dear Lukas,

Thanks for the excellent theme.
I found two bugs (or perhaps not) in your theme.

First, it does not seem to support bullet points. The code below does not work:

- Create a directory in your dropbox folder (I name it mighty_make) and `cd` into it
- Download `mighty_make` with: `wget http://tiny.cc/mighty_test -O Makefile`
- Prepare the folder structure with `make prepare`
- Optional (for collaboration): Log into your dropbox account and share the directory with your collaborator

But the below works perfectly:

1. Create a directory in your dropbox folder (I name it mighty_make) and `cd` into it
2. Download `mighty_make` with: `wget http://tiny.cc/mighty_test -O Makefile`
3. Prepare the folder structure with `make prepare`
4. Optional (for collaboration): Log into your dropbox account and share the directory with your collaborator

The second problem is how the theme is handling the width of the column. The theme looks better (the width is larger) in a tablet than in a fully maximized browser. The animated gif should give an idea of the problem:

How to change background color?

Hey there,

I'd like to change the background color of this theme, which is something that should be pretty straightforward, but I can't seem to be able to do just that.

I couldn't find anything that changes it in main.css nor syntax.css. Any suggestions?

Dark version with a few other changes

Hey Lukas,

I've cloned your repo and did some changes to my liking. I've hosted the repo here: https://github.com/miguelmf/material_theme_jekyll. You can see there the changes I made. They are pretty minimal.

I did not do pullrequests as my changes are pretty much non-optional, that is, there's no option in the _config, it's just a straight change in the codebase.

If you're not ok with this, please let me know and I will take it down.
