tabby-cat-support's Issues

safari version?

this extension is really cute, but i cant use it due to being a safari user :(
could it potentially be ported to safari? mew

[Bug] Kitten + rocketship animation

When I open a tab with the rocket ship toy and it attracts a kitten, the kitten and rocketship animation is unsynced, and it's really creepy.

[bug] Missing CORS headers on http://tabbycats.club/save

Firefox prints the following in the console whenever I try to snapshot a cat:

Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at http://tabbycats.club/save. (Reason: CORS header ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ missing).

Here's the full response:

HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
Server: nginx/1.10.2
Date: Sun, 21 Nov 2021 15:12:58 GMT
Content-Type: text/html
Content-Length: 185
Connection: keep-alive
Location: https://tabbycats.club/save

Connectivity problems

For the past week or so, the snapshot feature on Tabby Cats has only said "Oops, it didn't work. Do you have internet?", and tabbycats.club has only showed error messages.

Localization of Tabby Cat

Hi @lzacharkow .

I am interested in adding Czech localization for this Firefox extension. Is there a way to do that, please?

Michal

EDIT: Just a note about the readme, people without rights cannot add any labels to the issues on GitHub.

Switching laptops

When switching to a new laptop is there any way to port over the goodies as well? It sucks having to start from scratch.

API Support

Hi, any thoughts on creating a public API, I wanted to created a custom extension. Thanks!

[Bug] New tabs now contain a moz-extension URL

Whenever I open a new tab, the location bar is populated with something akin to:

moz-extension://9f792912-3d07-48cc-959e-61cb72a776e5/public/index.html

The problem though is that it's a pretty common behaviour to open a new tab and start typing a search query or URL. Now that this moz-extension: bit is there, I end up doing stuff like:

moz-extension://9f792912-3d07-48cc-959e-61cb72a776e5/public/index.htmlpictures of kittens

and hitting enter -- which isn't ideal.

The best fix for this would be to have new tabs start with nothing in the location bar (the default) or at the very least start it with the text highlighted, so typing anything will automatically clear the text. However, I'm not sure if highlighting the moz-extension: URL would inadvertently write to the Linux clipboard, so the first option would be preferable.

Platform: Firefox 56 on Ubuntu Linux with the following plugins:

  • Bitwarden
  • Containers on the go
  • Cookie auto-delete
  • Emoji Cheatsheet
  • GNOME Shell integration
  • HTTPS Everywhere
  • Multi-account containers
  • Privacy Badger
  • Reddit Enhancement Suite
  • Safe browsing (temporary) extension
  • Test pilot

Descriptions in links to cats only mention chrome

When sharing a link to a cat, the description is:

<meta property="og:description" content="Found with the Tabby Cat chrome extension." />

Could content be changed to Found with the Tabby Cat web extension for Chrome and Firefox.?

Thanks.

Configurable clock & weather options

I love the extension, would be neat to have a toggle to enable a 12hr or 24hr clock, a good way to remind myself it's dinner time :)

short term weather updates would be neat and what would be super neat is pet clothing or background to match on the current outside weather

Kitten is nameless

It would be great if the kitten that sometimes appears beside the main cat was given a name too.

[bug] Address bar not automatically selected in Firefox

When you open a new tab, the address bar should automatically be selected, so you can instantly enter text into it without having to manually select it first. This is the behavior of a regular new tab, but Tabby Cat tabs don't do this.

"Evil" kitties in Firefox have normal eyes

When encountering "Evil" kitties in Firefox they have "normal" black eyes until a screenshot link is taken of them -- once you access the screenshot they then have the appropriate red glowing eyes that I'm guessing are the default feature of "Evil" kitties.

Attached is a screenshot from a new tab.

Any plans to open source the TC extension?

Hi! Big fan. I've been using TC since ~2017.

Any plans to open source the extension? I'd love to somehow incorporate the cats/other animals into other aspect of my life.

Thanks again for making the new-tab window a happy place

Opera Support?

So, Opera has... shaky support of Chrome extensions, and I'm sad to say this one breaks in Opera.
Maybe you could fix that? #

Firefox extension not retaining items

I have the Firefox version of the extension, and when ever my cat gets a new item it doesn't save and will disappear after I close my browser. I have also used the Chrome version and that works fine. I love this extension and hope that there is a solution :)

API errors logged in system log

Good afternoon!

I was actually looking for something else when I noticed that two errors are logged in my computers system log whenever I open a new tab and the extension runs. I checked my browser console and it was showing the same thing:
selection_001
I tried to drill down to where it was trying to connect to that was returning that server error but the arrow expansions seem endless lol. It doesn't seem to be affecting its actual functionality or hurting the kitties any ❤️ so mostly just an annoyance.

Let me know if there are any things from the console I can expand to provide useful info for debugging this! Thanks! Great extension btw
