A command-line system info tool written in Go for Windows

Inspired by neofetch

Overview

Winfetch is an alternative program for neofetch/screenfetch made for Windows! It allows you to display system information through your command line without needing to have any hacky bash fixes to run neofetch. It's also faster!

Installation

Downloading Binary/Installer

You can find the Binary and Installer in the Releases Section. If you download the installer it will install winfetch.exe to whichever path you specify, the default is C:\ Program Files\winfetch\winfetch.exe.

If you download the binary alone in .zip format you can unzip and extract it to somewhere inside your $PATH.

Make sure wherever you install winfetch to is inside your $PATH! For more info refer here

Using `go get` (Recommended Method)

To install from go simply run:

go get github.com/M4cs/winfetch

Building From Source

Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/M4cs/winfetch.git

Run the following commands:

cd winfetch
go build
./winfetch.exe # This will be built inside the winfetch/ directory

Colors not working

I just downloaded the release binary and somehow the colors didn't work in both powershell and cmd. Do I have to enable something in my preferences?

Problems with customASCII !

Custom Ascii doesn't push the text on the right !.

Network information

Create an new .go file about Network information like local network Ethernet or Wifi for more make a simple new update for this info tool.

Hi I’m new

Win 11 Enterprise shown as win 10 Enterprise

Like the title says:

I am running Windows 11 Enterprise

Winfetch shows:

Could be on microsoft's side to, because they show version 21H2.
But as you can see on the logo and the text under the version it's win11.

I downloaded MediaCreationToolW11 and used the following command from cmd to download:
MediaCreationToolW11.exe /Eula Accept /MediaLangCode en-US /Retail /MediaArch x64 /MediaEdition Enterprise

Just wanted to let you guys know.
