Since the newest release allows you to resize and hide UI elements would you still need this feature?

I would not "need" it, but it is a good feature. A quick way to view the image in a large view, without having to rescale 2 thin bars and also "mess up" the interface that you may want to keep.

I would still consider this a valid request, but it's not a high priority one.
It's just a small improvement to the tool.

It would open up a new window with the image, scaled as large as it can (maintaining proportions). And if you click anywhere, it just closes it.
