Play the Benny Hill theme while running another command

npm install -g benny-hill

benny-hill # just play benny hill
benny-hill sleep 10 # play for 10 s
benny-hill make # when compiling
benny-hill npm install -g dat # installing node modules

Linux users

Make sure to install the following dependencies first if you are on linux

sudo apt-get install sox libsox-fmt-mp3

Alternatively you can install mplayer and it'll just use that

Doesn't seem to respect exit codes

If the sub process terminates with anything other than a zero exit code, the music keeps playing and the benny-hill process terminates with a one exit code.

Playback stops during lengthy processes

I tried this on short processes first such as the ones mentioned in the README, but then I went ahead and just did benny-hilll yaourt -Sayu to update my whole system, and the music stopped after a few minutes.

Would be nice to pass in a custom song

e.g. benny-hill -i my-great.mp3 make install

You could add such a notice for users running Debian (or Ubuntu-based) distros:

To install the play command, with mp3 support, run:
