My first guess by reading the documentation of the cache action: I think the cache step is supposed to come before the steps that use the restored files. Can you try to reverse the order of the steps in your workflow?

You're absolutely right, it's not very intuitive. The cache action uses this feature that allows you to run a script at the end of the workflow to do cleanup operations for example. That's where they store the relevant files in the cache.

@maierj thank you, that worked! Tbh, that step is a bit weird. I'd expect to require two steps: one for storing the cache and another for restoring it, right? But there's just one.
Anyway, I'm closing the issue since everything seems to be working as it should now. Thank you, once again!
