gimp-plugins's Introduction

GIMP-plugins

some photography related GIMP plugins esp. to integrate external applications like the NIK Suite, Neat Image, On1 Effects and others running in Windows 64bit.

Most of the scripts are delivered with the GIMP for Windows versions done by Partha Bagchi (http://www.partha.com/): all NIK*; all Topaz* and the ON1EffectsFree10.py

You will need to have such Tools installed at default location in a Windows 64bit environment.

NIK Suite (free of charge): https://www.google.com/intl/de/nikcollection/ Topaz collection (30 day trial): https://www.topazlabs.com/ On1 Effects Free: https://www.on1.com/apps/effects10free/ Neat Image (trial): https://ni.neatvideo.com/ Frazis Photo Software (trials): https://www.projects-software.com/

All those PY scripts are originally made by Rob Antonishen, later modified by Partha Bagchi and again modified by me to have those special Addon applications integrated to GIMP

Bothe HDR scripts (Franzis_HDR.py and NIKHDREfex.py) do need to have some additional features to support multiple images - this has to be done in future.

gimp-plugins's Issues

How to get Neat Image to pass back denoised image to GIMP?

Hello, I hope this is not an improper use of the "Issue" functionality, but I could find how to contact the contributor.

I stumbled upon the NeatImage.py plugin for GIMP, and I was very excited to share data with Neat Image (standalone) from within GIMP. However, after installing the plugin, I'm able to send images to Neat Image, but I can't figure out how to get the NeatImage output back into GIMP.

I generate the final output image within Neat Image (using or not using "Save Output Image" makes no difference), and when I close out of Neat Image, I see the plugin post a floating selection and then anchor it to a "NeatImage" layer in GIMP. However, the new layer is visually identical to what was sent to Neat Image -- no noise reduction is apparent.

Hopefully I have described the problem clearly. I'm wondering if there's some step I am missing or if I have done something wrong. Hopefully you can help me. I will gladly send you a donation for your help. Thank you.

Other Details:
Windows 10 Pro 64bit
GIMP 2.10.12
Neat Image v8 Standalone (I did have to alter the program location to "C:\Program Files\Neat Image v8 Standalone\NeatImage.exe" in the plugin to get it working at all)
