WeTookOutStephen

An infinite game developed at the 2016 GlobalGameJam in Karlsruhe.

This game is procedurally generating its own game mechanics. Yes, you heard right. We are from from the future. Get your brains wet.

wetookoutstephen's Issues

Cleanup unused scenes and code

Remove from the project the unused scenes.
Rename scenes and code that were hastily named.
Make sure all assets (visuals and sounds) are used and can appear in the game.

Add a drag & drop interaction

Add a new interaction in the game, that invoves dragging the picture at a small distance away from its original position. A new circle guide image has been produced to support this interaction.
U. suggested using a guide consisting of two circles to represent this interaction visually.

Down-Up interaction breaks the flow

The interaction should be shorter and more pleasant to perform.
The guide's animation should give feedback (be slightly different) when the mouse can be released.

hello there

a few thoughts on the game I saw and played:

it doesn't grow or develop. which is ok I guess. but I was wondering if this is ought to be changed...?! After a rather short time it "feels" repetative and random... well... bec it is :D

I was wondering if it could be possible to change sth about that, and wondering if we actually want to change that at all?

is it possible without giving up yo lifes to do the following?:

  1. More variety or at least "action" in changing the scenario: When you "beat" a room and zoom out of the background image, I think it would make the game much trippier and more exciting to have different room excit and enter animations... the way the other objects appear and how we move in and out: for instance we zoom out and the objects enter in a swirling motion. you could also play with color: b/w, one color/ full color scale / inverted color

  2. Original idea of exponential growth?: Have one or two objects only in the beginning, like a yellow marple and a backgroung that build up the whole room and all the possible interaction objects? then after doing a number of interactions/beating several rooms/a specific set of interactions or beating one specific "unlock"-action introduce a new one? again: you could also play with color: b/w, one color/ full color scale / inverted color (This would drastically change the game as it is- not sure if that really a good thing);

  3. catch a fast moving object: through beating all the possible interactions in the room, only then be able to click on it if it didnt fly away already-for instance-. this could(!) be an "unlock object" for instance... or one repeated object like the spaceship...

  4. loose objects: have a level or a room that you have to do all the actions very quick, otherwise they "blow up" or sth and you loose them again....

  5. interaction: draw a path

  6. with enough interactions they should be limited for each room

  7. add waffles.

if any of those seem worth considering I can break them down of course - or we do it together...
