Setup

  1. Add this to your Project level build.gradle at the end of repositories:
allprojects {
    repositories {
        ...
        maven { url 'https://jitpack.io' }
    }
}
  1. Add the dependency to your module level build.gradle:
dependencies {
    //replace XX with the latest version
    implementation 'com.github.mardillu:OpenAI-Client-Android:XX'
}

Getting started

  1. Initialize the client by calling the following function. You only need to do this once, ideally, in your Application class using environment variables for the API_KEY.
OpenAiInitializer.initialize("API_KEY")
  1. Create an instance of OpenAiClient
val client = OpenApiClient()
  1. Make a request
client.getTextCompletion("Hello chat gpt! what is the meaning of life?") { result, error ->
    if (error != null) {
        // Handle error
    } else if (result != null) {
        Log.d("TAG", result.choices[0].text)
    }
}
