Android app that digitizes the work of YMCA Paisley, a volunteering organization that equips young persons with STEM knowledge so that they are ready for their future careers and make a positive impact in the world. I volunteered for this organisation for 1 year while studying for my MSc degree in Glasgow, UK.

Hi,

I am Marius and I am Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience in developing complex Web and Desktop apps. Due to my curious mind I worked in different industries like supply chain, project management, artificial intelligence, big pharmacology. One of my best professional strengths is the passion for learning and my ideal place is one where growth is encouraged and supported. My main technology skills are Java, Spring, AWS, JavaScript, SQL and React but I love exploring new technologies as well. I have EU pre-settled status which gives me the right to work and live in UK without a visa.

In the coming years I will be focusing on expanding my knowledge and skills in Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing.

Add feature to provide feedback for the session by the beneficiary

App moves appointments to section based on device time but this may be wrong

Booking app

1. Change the name of the app
2. Create new firebase project
3. Add the firebase apps for Web and Android.
4. Add the configs to Android and Website.
5. Import realtime initial data (and modify feedback questions), add email authentification, add db rules
6. Deploy cloud functions for user created/deleted.
7. Change the git repository names.
8. For authentification on web add custom domain to "authorised domains" on firebase console
9. Change the "Mentee code" with something else.

Make the Android app take the feedback questions from Db

Add feature for providing reason for not completing an appointment

Edit appointment

When editing the an appoinment the screen title should be "Edit appointment" not "New Appointment"

Add the domain on which you publish the website to the trusted domains

Too many appointments accumulated

After using a while the app a lot of appointments will be stored if there is used just one category "Appointments" for a user. There should be 4 categories: "Progress", "Upcoming", "Feedback" and "Past" and for each one of them there should be loaded maximum 4 at a time with the possibility to load more given to the user.

Load only a small amount of appointments

When there are accumulated a lot of past appointments it would be useful to load only the most recent and not all of them.

Picking a date sets for an appt sets the date one month earlier

Appointment added earlier that day is added to "upcoming" instead of feedback and not moved when you open the app

Maybe the time check doesn't take into account the hour? Should take into account the end date of appt

Start time for appt can be earlier than end time, feedback bogdan

Make DB private

Make sure the Firebase DB is private before you deploy the app and website. Check Firebase Security rules
