milestone.github.io's Introduction

Who I am

Mauro is a Solution Architect in Particular Software, the makers of NServiceBus. He spends his time helping developers building better .NET systems leveraging Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and message-based architectures.

When he is not busy with distributed systems he loves to go back to one of his first loves: rich client development using XAML based technologies. Mauro usually writes about technology, but not only, on his English blog at //milestone.topics.it and his Italian blog at //blogs.ugidotnet.org/topics. He is also passionate about skiing, road bike riding, swimming, classical dance, and music, in general.

milestone.github.io's Issues

Add more details to each talk

  • multi language title and abstract
  • short abstract versions
  • include demos (yes/no)
  • minimum length, length with and without demos, etc.
  • previous recordings
  • key takeaways

Add all talks as an archive

Using, e.g., Jekyll data support. With title, date, location, abstract, links to the original event page (where available), slides and demos. Split by language.

Move bio to a markdown file

Currently bio is merged into the HTML structure of the /about-me page, making it harder than required to copy paste the bio when in need of it for events and CFPs. Option:

  • make /about-me a layout
  • move bio content to a makrdown file
  • add to the same markdown, the italian version and the short versions

Change events yaml header

Move from:

eventdate: "2016-11-29T09:00:00"
datetime: "29/30 Novembre - 1 Dicembre 2016, ore 9.00"

to

eventdate:
- start: "2016-11-29T09:00:00"
[- end: "2016-11-29T18:00:00"]
[- display: "29/30 Novembre - 1 Dicembre 2016, ore 9.00"]
[- allday: true/false]
