Python 3-incompatible

Hi Max! I have noticed that in __init__.py, Line 74, you are using the old print statement, which makes it py3k-incompatible. Would you consider a PR to change the print statements?

Unsupported locale setting

When running show-mem I get the following error:

locale.Error: unsupported locale setting

Indeed, I don't see en_US when running locale -a. However, I do see en_US.utf8. Perhaps this should be used instead if en_US doesn't exist?
