Administration panel access

Dear all,

I would like to access the administration panel but always end up on the demo mode http://demo.mazizone.eu:4567/admin_network

Do I need to be connected to internet and to the Mazi to access it?
Also, when I reset the password did I also reset the user name? And if not, is it possible to reset it?

Thank you for your answers,

Charles

update command copying image for linux

Message from commonslab.gr:

The dd command supports progress monitor with the command parameter "status=progress"

There are various places where we have this guideline and it would be nice to update it

Raspberry Pi 4 support ?

Hello dear Mazi team! I've been at one of your workshops at Rights Con a few years ago and had a chance to install Mazi on a Raspberry Pi. This time I wanted to try it on a Raspberry Pi 4, but seems that the Pi does not recognize the image. Do you know of anyone who had a successful experience with installing and running a Mazizone on a RasPi 4? If so, please connect me with that person, as I would like to use Mazi for a cool workshop in a forest. Looking forward! Ksenia

Guidelines for typical Raspberry Pi accessories (USB storage, display)

Hello,

I would like to experiment with two accessories for a Raspberry Pi and I would appreciate some help.

First, I would like to add an external USB hard disc or even a simple USB stick, and connect it to the NextCloud application and others perhaps. Is this possible? It seems easy.

Second, I have bought this touchscreen display, https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-touch-display/, and I would like to enable the "Desktop" interface to use it in a MAZI Zone installation. I imagine that this is not included in the standard MAZI image (I tried to type "startx" but the command was not recognized). Is there an easy way to install it afterwards or perhaps it would be better if a 2nd version of the image with the GUI installed was made available?

Thanks!

installing MAZI on different hardware

It would be great if we could update the "expert" guidelines to include the option to install the MAZI toolkit in a linux-based computer and especially on a typical "Virtual Private Server" that hosting providers offer.

Perhaps also a docker image would be nice to have?

Changing domain for wordpress not possible.

If I change the domain for Mazi and try to do the same in Wordpress, Wordpress will break. Also I notice that all 'Installed Applications' keep the mazi domain. I do not see a way to change that.

TL-MR3020 V3 – no OpenWRT Support?

Hi! I want to use the tp link TL-MR3020 as an external open wrt router. Unfortunately, after buying one, I found out that the newest version TL-MR3020 V3 is not supported by Open WRT. I found some information but wasn't able to understand it.

Do you have an Idea how to fix this problem?

Furthermore, it would be very helpful for others to know, that there are different versions of the TL-MR3020 available and that this could cause some troubles...

THX!

How to Contribute Documentation?

Hi,

I'm trying to solve #7, but I'm confused with the source tree, as it seems to contain build files, and has 2 source directories, one called _sources containing text files, and one called source containing .rst files.

  • How are these files and folders related?
  • What is the procedure to change text or add new files?
  • How to build the documentation locally to verify its integrity before pushing PRs?

Thank you!

password for nextcloud and interview admin page

Hi,

I am Alexandros, I've been using the mazizone for a while, but I am still exploring it. I am not an expert on technology, quite the opposite I would say. The other day I was trying to access the nextcloud app and I also wanted to edit an interview I had taken. I realized that there's a different password needed than the 'main' one. I looked for it, but couldn't find it.
Could this information be placed in a more obvious position, somewhere that even non computer-savvy users would come upon very easily?
Thank you,
Alexandros

etherpad plugins / nextcloud applications

It would be nice to include in the guidelines a review of existing etherpad plugins and optional nextcloud applications (and also installation tips if needed) and perhaps pre-install those that we found useful and stable.

For example, there is an etherpad plugin for adding comments that if it works well, would be very nice to have: https://github.com/ether/ep_comments

(please add below recommendations for other plugins and/or applications)

Document meaning of fields output by Guestbook

Hi all
I have used the MAZI Guestbook on a project (54 different entries! 31 images uploaded!) and output the data to JSON format. This shows the following fields:
v | id | author | comments__001 | comments__002 | comments__003 | comments__004 | createdAt$date | dataset | device | files__name | files__path | files__filetype | files___id_$oid | location__- | tags__001 | tags__002 | tags__003 | text | title | updatedAt__$date

I can't find documentation of what all the fields mean. Some are always "FALSE" (device, title) and "location_" is always 0.

Can somebody document and explain the fields, and why some of them aren't changing. I am guessing that perhaps Guestbook has some 'dormant' functionalities that aren't being activated?

thanks!

Explain properly the two different types of wireless connectivity

The Raspberry Pi has an internal antenna that is used to accept incoming connections, it acts as an Access Point.

The additional USB dongle can then be used to connect the Raspberry Pi to a close by Internet source, i.e., a wireless router at home or elsewhere, if for example one cannot connect it directly to the Internet router with an ethernet cable.

This gets more complicated when the option of the external router is introduced, which in the current set-up is meant to replace the role of the internal antenna (the one acting as access point), and not the USB WiFi dongle. The current interface does not express properly this functionality.

And in general, the whole set of combinations might sound too complex for non-technically savvy people and perhaps a nice figure to explain this should be made.

I will wait in case there any volunteers for this and otherwise I will give it a try myself :-)
