pfs-fire's Issues

Quick question about CFAST venting

When you are entering a room's horizontal and vertical venting in the CFAST
geometry, there is
always 1 more room than you enter. Is that extra room considered "outside".
So if I have 3 rooms,
Room 4 is venting to atmosphere/outdoors?

Running, minor issues

So far I have been successful in running the code and getting output. I
get a couple of minor errors when running some of the Monte Carlo
simulations.

My simulation is suppose to simulate a 3 room fire. A PPV fan in room 1,
connects to the fire in Room 2. A victim room is connected to the fire
room. My variables are window sizes in the fire and victim room, and the
time venting occurs (PPV door, fire room window, victim window).

1. When I make the correlation coefficients with the "correlation" action
button: a plot is generated with the correlations, but there is a Visual
Basic error I have to terminate. The plot looks correct, except it
includes variables not used as random variables. (see chart 1 on file)

2. Any Monte Carlo simulation longer than 1000 seem to crash excel.

3. My histogram plots of the output data do not run when I hit the "Make
Histogram of Original Data", because I do not have the "ATPVBAEN.XLA" file?
I have installed the Analysis Toolpak for excel, but do not know what that
file is.

4. Is there a way to monitor carbon monoxide (CO) or species outputs for a
fire?

Thanks so much for making the code and the help! =)

Error finding bin files. Might be Microsoft Vista issues

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Setup includes Windows Vista, Excel 2007, Cfast version 5.1.1.

2. I am trying a basic setup of CFAST without Monte Carlo simulations.

3. I have placed the binary files in the following folder: C:\PFS\bin

4. I put the work directory as C:\PFS\bin

5. I have the PFS.xls on my desktop named "Project1"

6. After some general input data, and trying to run the file, I get an
error saying "Run-time error '53': File not found: CallCfast.dll"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect a general report but instead get the above error in step 6. I am
then sent to either end Visual basic or debug.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

See 1 above. I am running the Sep 02 release of the FPS worksheet. It is
attached

Please provide any additional information below.

I am unsure if Vista is causing a problem, or if I am placing the bin files
in the wrong location, or not putting the address correct. Do y'all have
any ideas?

control form user interface is not available

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I am a new user, learning to work on PFS using FDS. I am facing problem in
opening control form user interface ( i.e. PFS window for simulation). I was
running an FDS example i.e. room_fire.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
These are following steps I have followed:
1) In C folder, I have created PFS file with "bin" as one sub-dir (copy pasted
all .dll files) and "applications" as another sub-dir (room_fire folder in
which all files related to room_fire for running it in FDS are present along
with the PFS excel sheet with name "room_fire" and fds5.exe file too).
2)I have opened "PFS_expertControl" sheet and given work directory path and
project name (since I was unable to open "show control form" present in
"PFS_help" sheet).
3) When i click on "Show Control Form" icon present in PFS_help sheet. I got
message it says "cannot run the macro 'room_fire.xls!showuserform'. The macro
may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled"
4) When I enable the macro the excel file gets struck (not responding)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Product: PFS4 and FDS5(both are latest version)
Operating System: Windows 7, 64 bit, 4 GB RAM and 2.0 GHz Intel core 2 duo
processor.

Please provide any additional information below.
FDS5 is working properly (performed many examples)
I hereby attach the files.

Thank you for your time and consideration

OZONE problem

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. When I try to use pfs as an interface to OZONE, after clicking "run
project", excel turns off and DAT file in working directory is created.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In DAT file there is:"This version of PFS2 (CallOzone_Pfs_v2p1) has expired on
6/30/2008"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest - .xls 10 may 2010, libs 9 apr 2010.

Please provide any additional information below.
I haven't problems with fds and cfast, only with OZONE.
