vmmv's Issues

Moving leaves out certain resources

When moving, some resources and settings are left out, leading to invalid movement.

  • Resource pool membership
  • Scheduled backup
  • Current backup archives

Better handling of all of the above may result in a perfect movement which works for any type of configuration. There may be more of them, but these are the most normal ones.

Keep in mind that a VM/LXC may not be moved with this tool when in a cluster!

Add support for different types of storage

Current version only supports lvm and (lvmthin). Add support for additional ones. This makes it easier to implement #1.

  • zfspool
  • dir
  • nfs
  • cifs

More could be added later, but these are the most common ones.

Old backups keep their old disk names

The old backups keep their old disk names mentioned in "Show Configuration". While this does not change the real name on the disks, they still get the correct name after restoring, it still is a bit annoying.

Fixing this is a bit of a bother, as we need to read and modify the internal archive, leading to longer wait times while this is being done. I will leave this issue here for anyone that finds this so they know it's not an issue, but rather just cosmetics.
