I have designed and Developed GPS based Vehicle tracking system using Raspberry pi and GPS antena. I have closely worked on Linux operating system , GPS technology , Raspberry Pi microcontroller.

week 2

for this week we have done the research on the project definition and we have selected the group partners after discussing with other group members we have decided to finalize our project and our project is" GPS Monitoring system".

Week 5 - progress report

We have assigned the given task for week 5

  1. Installation of Raspberry pi image and access to the graphical user interface for pi
  2. enabled the ssh for our raspberry pi and access the network configuration.
  3. installed Putty for accessing the terminal
  4. update and upgrade the pi by Linux command

week 7

tasks we have assigned for this week:

  1. integration of the BU-353S4 Gps module with the raspberry pi
  2. fetch the incoming data on the raspberry pi terminal
  3. use the gpsd command like gpsmon and cgps -s and xgps for observing the GPS data.
  4. make GPSD configuration for starting on boot

Week 9

tasks we have assigned for this week:

  1. we have started to work on programming for fetching the required GPS data
  2. implement functions for fetching the required data (ex, lat , lon , alt , speed, date and time)
  3. run the program on raspberry pi terminal.

week 10

tasks we have assigned for this week:

  1. we started to do Research ubidots for sending data to web server
  2. create a dashboard like google map and navigation window to track the GPS data.

Week 11

we have assigned a given task for week 11

  1. make the IoT dashboard on ubidots.
  2. implement the map tracing on ubidots for real-time implementation.
  3. troubleshooting and testing.

week 13

tasks we have assigned for this week

  1. prepare the real-time demonstration of the entire project
  2. report writing

Week 4 - progress report

we have assigned the given task for week 4:

  1. Installation and the configuration of the GPS (BU-353S4) module
  2. Testing of the GPS module
  3. use visualization tools for GPS Data such as Ublox, and GPS info
  4. varify the GPS Incoming data on software tools

Week3

These are the task We assign for week 3
1)All of us have to Install Ubuntu.
2)Create an account on GitHub and Add and give access to the team members on Repo.
3)Download GitHub desktop.
4)week2 task upload.
5)upload the detail design report in our repository
6)upload the part request from in the repository
7) install the python on ubuntu Linux
8) run the python basic program on Linux
9) write a basic GPS code for fetching the raw data into python
10) Test the code on Linux

week 14

  1. make the final project report
  2. create the final presentation for this project
  3. Create the final project banner.

week 12

tasks we have assigned for this week:

  1. make an advanced IoT dashboard for Visualizing GPS data on the IoT platform's initial state.
  2. implement the map function on the IoT dashboard.
  3. troubleshoot the errors and teting.

Week 6- Progress Report

we have assigned the given task for the week6:

  1. Interface the GPS module with Raspberry pi
  2. use the Linux command for fetching incoming data from the Gps module on Linux Terminal
  3. Install the GPSD - clients and configure the GPSD package
  4. Troubleshoot the interfacing part OF GPS with Raspberry pi.
