Well, it was becoming too ugly included in IRL so I had to separate it to something that could be used in other situations.

Its aim is to act something like irssi, so, duh.

ß => 11000011 10011111
◕ => 11100010 10010111 10010101
死 => 11100110 10101101 10111011
し => 11100011 10000001 10010111

So, the first 2 chars just need 1 cell, the last 2 need 2 cells, how to understand when a char needs 2 cells?

I think there's a function for that in the ncursesw library but who knows what it is?
