Yn dilyn buddugoliaeth tim rygbi Cymru yn y 6 Gwlad yn 2012, roedd tipyn o ganu yn Nhafarn y Fic, Felinheli. Yn fuan iawn roeddem wedi canu'r rhai poblogaidd, a lawr i'r caneuon lle nad oedd pawb yn gwybod y geiriau. Ciw lot o gwglo a chwilio am 3G i lawrlwytho'r geiriau.

Daeth y syniad i mi felly i greu app sydd yn rhestr pob math o ganeuon ac emynau Cymreig sydd yn addas i'w canu mewn sefyllfa debyg. Mae hefyd cwpwl o'r Iwerddon a'r Alban.

A simple app listing popular Welsh songs and hymns.

Following the Welsh rugby team's victory in the 2012 6 Nations, there was quite some singing in the Fic, Felinheli pub. The popular songs were soon finished and we were on to the less well-known songs, to which not everybody knew the words. Cue much googling and searching for 3G as we all looked for the words online.

So the idea came to me to create this simple app, listing all kinds of Welsh songs and hymns for similar situations. I've also thrown in a few Irish and Scottish ones too.

This is an androis version of the list available on canu.gwilym.net.

Development

This is my first Android project and was created with Android Studio.

It's built using the V7 Appcompat libraries.

I already had the database so I installed it using Jeff Gilfelt's SQLite Asset Helper.
