Fig 2: It would be good to be able to contrast this plot against the newspaper “growth” in general to see the evolution of the ads proportion (?). One could think of additionally plotting the # of newspaper elements (all: articles, ads, tables, etc.) but given the usually imperfect segmentation (small bits get segmented) it might distords a bit things. Number of pages? Not ideal either. Number of words? Or just # of elements recognized as articles. If not possible then nothing, this is a question.
Or is this what you mean with “We plotted took the 𝑙𝑜𝑔10 of the mean size to
visualize the rate of change better.”, although this sentence is not super understandable.
