package.json file

needs a package.json file for npm and other package installers

sjs + mootools

Hi,
have you tried to use ss mootools in sjs files? It doesn't work for me and I can't figure out why.

There's no tests

Sendfile routine pegs CPU

It's using busy waiting at the moment, pegging my cpu at 100% (heating up my laptop a whole lot). This is particularly bad for large file transfers over a slow network.

It doesn't look like there's a simple way to select() on a sendfile() fd from inside node, so we might have to change to something else.

Node has transitioned to Buffers since antinode switched to sendfile(), see if we can use Buffers to deliver comparable performance without pegging the CPU.

Files are stat()ed on every request

See if we can replace this with a stat() cache, to be invalidated by watchFile(). See if this improves performance.

Should redirect when directory is missing trailing / to fix relative urls

GIven web root:

foo/
foo/foo.png
foo/index.html

index.html containing: <img src="foo.png">

If I browse to /foo, the image will fail to load. I have to go to /foo/

Add support for HTTP Last-modified header

What node version is expected?

Would be good if the readme noted what version(s) of node the code is developed for, to sort out incompatibility issues.
