I talked to Claude about some of these drop down menus that are gonna get lengthy. I think like specifically the collection, format and generation menus. I think the collection menus is fine the way we have it, that list is super long. For format and generation, the way you currently have it is good, but claude would like (if the field is blank) the entire list to show up if left click but you do not type anything. So for generation, if they type B they the options containing "B" populate a list but if you just left clicked into the blank field, the entire list would show up? Is this too much? Not super super high on my priority list.

In an email I've attached three screen shots. The first is the Zimbabwe collection showing up correctly when typed into the quick search field. The second screen shot is typing Zimbabwe into the Collection search box and the search box recognizing the term. The third screen shot is of after I have selected Zimbabwe in the Collection search box but nothing comes up. I've noticed this happens consistently except for the 14 front page collections which do not have parent collections.

This is great. One question, can we have any ability to escape out of menus once something has been selected? Like if someone chooses the wrong call # right now they're stuck with their decision or they have to delete and start the record from scratch. Perhaps this is an issue in other menus too, but I haven't noticed it yet?

You've just added a number of new categories under call number. Can we have the capability to do that so we don't have to always ask you?

Insert language about non digitized content in the header. Where can we modify that language?

Without messing with your process to locate and delete duplicate records, we need a function to duplicate records similar to in FilerMaker Pro. This will ensure consistency in metadata for records that are copies of each other but in different formats.

I want collection descriptions to be not just on page 1 but on all pages in that collection.

Thanks, I also get it now. is there a way for the search to understand that someone typing soul book probably means to type Soulbook? And have the results appear either way.

I know we had originally decided that we wanted a process to find and get rid of duplicates not to add duplicates. But now we do in fact want a button that duplicates all a record's metadata (except format but its ok if everything gets copied and we just have to manually change the format). This would mainly be used when we're digitizing a record and don't want to type all the data again.

Could this button only be used by the admin accounts? Thanks.

Concerning the headings on the spreadsheets, to make things both sets of metadata consistent: can we change "folder" to "collection" and "place of publication" to "location"? and also maybe "file name" to "url"?

In the Manage Records menu, one can type the name of a collection in the collection field and the menu will limit the results to that collection. I often access records in this manner. After I access a record using this process, I often use the Admin/Records/(record name) breadcrumbs to get back to the Manage Records screen. But when I go back, although the collection name remains in the field, the screen now shows all records. Can we fix it so that when I go back I still just see the desired collection records until I delete it out of the collection field?

Does that make sense, will upload screen shots.

Filemaker Pro has drop down menus for subjects, format, and quality. Can we replicate that?

Thanks for fixing the ability to retain search options as we edit records. One last very specific request on that topic. Can we have a back button on the manage records page so we don't have to use the back button in the browser?

The search index does not currently index words 3 characters or smaller, or very common words. Day of the Gun is there, it just won't show up if you search by title.

• Ok, I understand. But perhaps this can be a bit of a larger conversation. I don't want to searches to pull false results based on 3 character words but I do want Day of the Gun to show up when you search for Day of the Gun. Or "Day of the Gun."

Originally we had decided we didn't need control over this aspect because we weren't going to add or change many of the call # headings. But then I've asked you to add a number of them so maybe we should re-visit that?

For now though, can you add JB - Judi Bari and CO - Cointelpro ?

Size of the keywords-> can they be bigger? Can we control their size? Is there a limit to how many show up at once? So if I type 100 will 100 show up?

It would be cool to be able to search and filter results by call #.

Apostrophes, Quotation marks, accent marks and other punctuation marks like … still do not translate well. Most of the time the system deletes any and all characters that follow a punctuation mark it doesn’t understand.

I can still combine keywords, but the delete button is broken.

We need to add a subject field back into the records meta data. It can be a drop down menu. For now we can just use the subject headings we already have. In the future we'd like to be able to modify those headings.

When records are displayed on the front end, is there a way to see which keywords are affiliated with each specific record?

Seeing all of the keywords (along with all the other metadata) might be a little much on the eyes, so maybe even just like the top five keywords?

Can we change the icon home to be more obvious that it takes you to the FA homepage?

hey hope all is well. was trying to upload a csv today, went through the longer new process of converting to txt, changing the language and converting back. Keep getting a blank column 18 error. Can't seem to find any characters in column 18 and column 17 (place of publication) is normally the last column we have any data in. Just wondering if this means something to you? Thanks.

The meta data category Year should be chronological instead of ranked by the amount per year

Certain menus and ones' ability to scroll using the scroll bar get cut off on Claude's screen because of how he sizes it. Specifically the quality and format menus.

I want to work towards checking to make sure our site is compatible across browsers and also on smart phones.

For digitized audio or for audio in general can we get the format listed in the record?

Is there a process for locating search duplicates? I seem to continue to encounter duplicates, not always, it seems like this is particularly a problem in the Black Liberation Collection.

Can we have proper names saved in the system and utilize an auto-complete function to help make standardization easier? I thinking of a way eliminate different spellings of the same names.
