contrast-ui's Issues

Deprecated selector in `contrast-ui/index.less`

In contrast-ui/index.less:

Starting from Atom v1.13.0, the contents of atom-text-editor elements are no longer encapsulated within a shadow DOM boundary. This means you should stop using :host and ::shadow pseudo-selectors, and prepend all your syntax selectors with syntax--. To prevent breakage with existing style sheets, Atom will automatically upgrade the following selectors:

  • atom-text-editor[mini], atom-text-editor[mini]::shadow => atom-text-editor[mini], atom-text-editor[mini].editor

  • atom-text-editor[mini] .cursor, atom-text-editor[mini]::shadow .cursor => atom-text-editor[mini] .cursor, atom-text-editor[mini].editor .cursor

  • atom-text-editor[mini] .selection .region, atom-text-editor[mini]::shadow .selection .region => atom-text-editor[mini] .selection .region, atom-text-editor[mini].editor .selection .region

  • atom-text-editor[mini].is-focused, atom-text-editor[mini].is-focused::shadow => atom-text-editor[mini].is-focused, atom-text-editor[mini].is-focused.editor

  • atom-text-editor[mini].is-focused .selection .region, atom-text-editor[mini].is-focused::shadow .selection .region => atom-text-editor[mini].is-focused .selection .region, atom-text-editor[mini].is-focused.editor .selection .region

  • atom-text-editor .gutter.drop-shadow, atom-text-editor::shadow .gutter.drop-shadow => atom-text-editor .gutter.drop-shadow, atom-text-editor.editor .gutter.syntax--drop-shadow

Automatic translation of selectors will be removed in a few release cycles to minimize startup time. Please, make sure to upgrade the above selectors as soon as possible.

Improving bracket, parenthesis, braces pairing and pairing code scope highlighting

Good Morning Michardy:

Here are some suggestions.

Improving bracket, parenthesis, braces pairing highlighting:
When I place a cursor on a left or right character (braces, bracket, or parenthesis), there is an underline symbol below both opening and closing characters pair to highlight the pairing.

The problem for me is the underline is too thin.
I t looks like it is only one pixel in thickness.

Here are some suggestions to improve it:

  1. Change it to a thicker (preferably blinking) underline
  2. Change it to a rectangular ( & blinking ) background
  3. Improving bracket, parenthesis, braces pairing code scope highlighting:
    Put a vertical strip (e.g. yellow color) next to the gutter to
    highlight the line numbers within the scope of braces, brackets, or parenthesis.
    May be even better if we have a strip for each group
    of braces, brackets, or parenthesis for a total of 3 vertical strips.
    But one strip for braces is typically adequate.

Thank you for your generous time.

Suggestion for active tab highlighting

Hello:

This is the only place where I could contact you.
Thank you for the high contrast UI & syntax themes.
Since the tabs for each file are of ALMOST same color,
it is hard to see which is active since the active tab is only slightly darker than
the inactive tabs.
The LCD screen angle can make the contrast between active and inactive tabs much poorer.

It would be a good idea to swap the tab background color and tab title text color
to indicate an active tab, almost similar to browser tab highlighting.
For dark theme, you now have white text and black (or off-black) tab background color for all tabs.
So with the suggestion, you should have an active tab of
black text and white tab background color.

Or if it is easier, just use a different high contrast color text on the active tab.
Thank you.
