Setting address of PC manually

Hi,
I wanted to know if it is possible to assign an address of a PC manually. In my case it would be nice to set the address of a DNS Server to not have to re-enter it into all my client scripts that I use in multiple worlds.

Thank you for your reply in advance

Broadcasting?

I would like to broadcast a message, while still making computers know its me.

It could work 2 ways, either computers connect to an address for receiving, and receive messages if the computer uses .broadcast.

OR, the same as above, but with channels, either way, it would be nice.

Attempt to index local "L" (a nil value)

I'm trying to run the script on a CraftOS terminal but I am getting the error referenced in the title on line 278 in the minimized file. I downloaded it using wget on the terminal. I'm not entirely sure why this error occurred as L definitely exists on that line. Perhaps there is something else going on?
