Setting to hide "Missing [x] chapters"

I like to hide all unread chapters of a series I'm reading but now there's this "Missing [x] chapters" red error message that I can't get rid of without showing all of the unread chapters again. Could this either get removed when hiding unread chapters or add a toggle to hide it in the settings?

Add back settings for maximum saved backups.

Older versions of Tachiyomi had a setting to set how many of the latest backups you would like to keep. This feature is no longer present in the current version of the app.

Add an option to separate library backup from library downloads

Mihon icon does not fill the standard Android icon space

1. Check the homescreen icon.
2. ...That’s it.

Expected behavior

The icon should fill the space completely, leading to a fully white background.

The new icon made for Mihon looks absolutely beautiful, but there is one small issue: it doesn’t fill all of the available space provided by the standard Android circle, which leads to very small black bars on the right and bottom of the circle.

[Question] what about a play store build now?

Right now mihon does not provide extensions on services that infringe your copyright and the user must provide his or her own material. Similarly to many emulators on the play store.

Is there something that blocks a release on the play store now?(possibly the fact that the application needs to install apks?)

support for older android

there any reason for dropping support for older android like 6.0+ except android system webviews stopped updating in the last year ?

Chrome stopped update too but the browser still work fine

Custom Cover Backup

Describe your suggested feature

In order to be future-proof for more common mass migrations between apps and forks, I would very appreciate a feature which would allow the backup and restoration of custom cover arts. This is currently one of the only things which gets lost in migration, while being used to a moderate degree.

[FR] Image scaling algorithms and sharpening

Describe your suggested feature

Often Manga scanlations have a lower resolution than modern phone and tablet screens, which means they will get scaled up while displaying them. This results in a blurry image, although slightly.

Modern devices should have enough power to support a better upscaling algorithm (for example Lanczos?) than bilinear and/or to apply a (customizeable) real time sharpening filter.

Going forward also local AI upscaling should be considered as a long term goal. Even current devices already have NPUs for accelerated AI applications, so it's not impossible.

3. Long term prospect: AI upscaling (ESRGAN or better/newer with suitable manga model), for example as postprocessing after automatic download.

Sometimes sources upload multiple new chapters that can lead to a very cluttered update page, it would be nice to be able to compress them into a single entry.

Filtered Chapters Show as Missing in Library

Steps to reproduce

1. Tap on a manga in your library.
2. Activate a filtering option that filters out some amount of chapters, but not the most recently released chapter.

Expected behavior

The chapters should just disappear from the chapter list with no further side effects.

Actual behavior

The chapter count displays "Missing X chapters", and the chapter list has several dividers labeled with "Missing X chapters", even if the source has no chapters missing.

Backup even history for manga not in the library?

Describe your suggested feature

I open a feature request that was in tachiyomi.
I think it would be pretty useful because we need to migrate everything now.
It was added to 0.15.x milestone.

When we backup history in the backup options of manga, then it only backs up the history for the manga in the library and not others. Could we implement it the other way?

Export Simple List Of Entries

Describe your suggested feature

I know this is a long shot, but since things are being revamped I figured I should ask for this feature.

I know it’s been brought up in the past, but I’d like to propose the ability to export a list in the form of a .txt file that can be easy to read for the average user/convert to a spreadsheet file of entries from the library.

I know the previous response to a request like this was “decode the protobuf file of the backup,” however this doesn’t help the average user who is looking to do this. Not everyone has that level of skill in coding and not everyone is going to even bother doing it.

Aside from suggesting it as a feature for myself to use, I think that for those that keep their completed manga in their library this would be helpful in making them remove completed entries. Furthermore, not all entries are recorded in trackers, especially those from niche sources. They either don’t meet the requirements or users aren’t just adding the entries into trackers yet.

With the peace of mind of having an exported list, users will be able to have that data on hand and can remove the entries from their libraries. Removing completed entries would make people having smaller libraries. I believe this would likely help with some of the questions thrown the staff’s way regarding backups/complaints about space and help make it easier on sources for those individuals who just update everything. If people have broken backups, if they have a list they’ll at least have a place to start (if they remember to export a list) for those who never have automatic backups on (likely the same person who won’t make a list though, which would be the downside).

As for how I see the exported data looking like, I’m not visualizing a 1:1 of the backup format. Much like the pop-up that appears when selecting what to backup, I feel there should be a way to select any of the following information:

• Entry Name
• Entry Artist
• Entry Author
• If in a tracker, include the tracking URL/ID of trackers marked
• Tags [not necessary]
• Description [not necessary, this would be what I'd be afraid would break the format if separators are used in the desc.]
• Source [not necessary. Could just be the source name or the URL. I understand if this one cannot be added.]

I just think having simple information be exportable would be helpful for users. If more complex information can be selected, great! But I think the basics are the most vital.

If backup by category is eventually added, I think exporting categories in a simple list would also be the next step of this feature.

While I know it’s more of a feature for a certain set of users, I feel it does have a level of usefulness that would be beneficial for the average user in the long-run.

Not seeing downloaded chapters after tachiyomi backup recovery+path selection

Steps to reproduce

1. Backup the entire library from tachiyomi
2. Set up Mihon with the base Tachiyomi folder without changing anything
3. Recover from backup at first app start
4. Trust all the extensions
5. Open any series in the library whose chapters are downloaded and found in the "downloads" subfolder (in the Tachiyomi main folder)
6. Notice that, while opening the chapter DOES pull from the downloads folder, you cannot see which ones are already downloaded from within Mihon.

Expected behavior

At step 6, the expected outcome should be that it recognizes that the chapter is already present, and therefore, it should be noted as "downloaded".

Actual behavior

As stated in step 6, you cannot tell from within the app if chapters already present in the "downloads" subfolder path are, in fact, present.

Tracking change causing spam for MangaUpdates API tracking

Steps to reproduce

1. Log in with MangaUpdates for tracking
2. Add new entry to be tracked
3. Observe that the score gets assigned -1.0 as opposed to no score as with older tracked entries

Haven't migrated to use Mihon yet but haven't noticed any commits that would indicate the issue has been resolved. Looks like the API server is getting hammered so they're banning users to remedy the issue. I've been banned as a user and have logged out of my tracker for now.

Possibly caused by the timezone used in the app? Happens in every Tachiyomi version starting from v 0.15+ as well. Reading anything at around 10 PM (my local time), does show "today" instead of "yesterday". Turning relative timestamps off does not help. Choosing another date format also does not help either.

Mihon not tracking Komga read

Steps to reproduce

1. Install Komga extension and sign in.
2. Turn enhanced tracking on.
3. Track a series.
4. Read a chapter in said series.
5. Check Komga webUI.

Expected behavior

It should mark the chapter that was just read as read in Komga through an API call.

I was talking in the Tachiyomi discord before everything happened and the people there said all my settings looked fine. I went over to the Komga server and they said everything looked fine. The API call works on Komga's end so it's most likely how Tachiyomi (now Mihon) does the call. To remove my server and reverse proxy from the equation, I added the demo server and read something from there. I looked at the webpage version and it did not get marked as read. I refreshed and reloaded everything and nothing got it to update. I believe that while the content is from an official extension, tracking is handled by the app itself so that is why I am submitting an issue here instead of with the Komga extension.

Option to track volumes

Describe your suggested feature

Some mangas in my library are sorted as entire volumes instead of chapters, i.e. a "chapter" in the app is a volume with multiple chapters.

This is an issue when using trackers as they only track chapters. I suggest adding an option whether to track volumes or chapters when adding the tracker.

In tachiyomij2k when searching for a manga it filters the manga from the all category in library locally and shows it,
If it's not available then shows an option to search for it globally.

Backup restore message doesn't mention token exports

Steps to reproduce

1. Go to create backup
2. Select tracker logins
3. Create backup
4. Log out of tracker
5. Restore backup

Expected behavior

The restore backup message should indicate that the backup includes tracker login tokens.

Actual behavior

The message doesn't mention login tokens and instead says the trackers aren't logged into.
But if you go to the tracker settings after the restore, the login tokens have been restored and you're logged back in.

Feature Request: Bulk title migration

Describe your suggested feature

This is something I hoped original Tachi would adopt. A bulk migration feature would be amazing. When updating versions or when sources no longer become supported you need to migrate titles to new sources. Sometime those titles start to add up after a while migrating could take hours. A way to bulk migrate would be amazing. As most sources list the manga under the same title a way to bulk migrate would be a really big quality of life update.

• migrate titles by "x source"
• 45/100 titles migrate successfully

Mass Migrate feature

Thank you for the app!

It would be great if mass migration was added since extensions break very often sometimes especially in a scenario like current time. It becomes hard to migrate hundreds of manga, manhwa etc so having mass migration feature would be nice to have.

Non-default selected App Language should be part of the backup

On backup creation, if the user has chosen a language that's different from the system language, this chosen language should be included in the created backup.
On backup restoration, the app should select that language to display, save it to its settings, and cause the new language to be displayed.

MIUI: Predictive Back broken on Android 13

Steps to reproduce

1.- Open Mihon
2.- You are at library
3.- Swipe back with gesture(right to left or left to right) to go at Home (Android Desktop)
4.- When i swipe back the animation doesnt appear

Expected behavior

There should be an animation when you swipe back to go home.

Manga info editor

A manga info editor would allow editing of the title, author name, artist name, and description of the manga.

TachiyomiSY has an implementation of this that seems to work beautifully, and seeing as it is a fork that closely follows Mihon, getting the code and implementing it for Mihon should work fine. (Correct me if I’m wrong)
