That's designed to make the editor a11y friendly, you can add a simple keymap if you need that.

Thanks again! By the way, I have tried inserting text too, but I have no idea how to mimic the behavior in typora (also supports indent & unindent selected text or list items). Do you have any suggestions?

There's no unindent behavior for text, as for list item, you can use Cmd/Ctrl - ] and Cmd/Ctrl - [ to indent and unindent them.
