This is a Visual Studio extention that lets you edit project and solution files without having to unload or close them first. It will automatically reload when you save.
In the Solution Explorer, right click on a Project or Solution item and select "Edit File". The file will then open; after saving it, Visual Studio will prompt you to reload the required projects.
Install it from the Visual Studio Marketplace.
For some reason Visual Studio 2017 stopped suggesting project reload after saving the file. Worked fine in RC though.

I installed LetMeEdit into my VS 2015:

I restarted VS.
When I try to edit my .sln or a project file I get the error:
The operation could not be completed. The system cannot find the file specified.
The message does not include the file name of what can't be found (a shame).
Anyways, I can't edit my file.
I use unity and when changing its csproj file through this extension it indeed caused reload of visual studio project.

When I open the project file and save it then the encoding signature is removed from the file
