Iranian Provinces and Cities in JSON format

This repository contains a JSON file named "province_city.json" that includes all provinces and cities of Iran in both English and Persian languages. The JSON file can be used by developers or anyone who needs to get access to a comprehensive list of provinces and cities in Iran.

Data Sources

The data used in this project was scraped from multiple sources, including wikipedia and other reliable online resources. However, due to the constantly changing nature of the Iranian cities and provinces :D , some cities may have been inadvertently omitted from the dataset or may have been assigned to the wrong province. In such cases, we encourage users to inform us of any mistakes or omissions so that we can update the dataset accordingly.

Usage

The JSON file contains an array of objects, where each object represents a province and includes the following properties:

• province-en: The name of the province in English

• province-fa: The name of the province in Persian

• cities: An array of objects, where each object represents a city within the province and includes the following properties:

• city-en: The name of the city in English

• city-fa: The name of the city in Persian

Contributing

If you would like to contribute to this project, you can do so by opening a pull request. We welcome any contributions that improve the accuracy and completeness of the dataset, such as adding missing cities or correcting existing data.

Known Issues & Manual adjustments

Some cities may have been assigned to the wrong province or may be missing from the dataset. We encourage users to inform us of any such issues so that we can update the dataset accordingly. Due to the constantly changing nature of the Iranian cities and provinces :D, some cities may have been inadvertently omitted from the dataset or may have been assigned to the wrong province. If you notice any such issues, please inform us so that we can update the dataset accordingly. These city names in the "province_city.json" may have had some issues, but they have been fixed manualy.
