README

NTLM Git Server

A minimal HTTP Git Server that advertises NTLM and/or SPNEGO (Negotiate) auth and captures NTLM responses. Used to help debug NTLM authentication interactions with Git. Not a functional Git server!

Usage

python ntlm_git_server.py [--auth {ntlm,spnego,both}]

Options:

  • --auth ntlm (default) — Advertise bare NTLM only.
  • --auth spnego — Advertise Negotiate only (NTLM-over-SPNEGO).
  • --auth both — Advertise both Negotiate and NTLM.

When running in spnego or both mode, the server wraps/unwraps NTLM messages inside SPNEGO tokens. Only NTLM is offered as a mechanism — Kerberos is not supported, but the server will detect and inspect a Kerberos token if a client sends one.
