https://www.gatsbyjs.com/docs/how-to/custom-configuration/add-custom-webpack-config/#absolute-imports, I don't think this plugin is needed anyways, docs layout a pretty clear process for how to do it.

Not quite sure where the problem is here without additional context. The minimal example of RTK with the plugin seems to be working for me.
But you're right that this plugin isn't needed if your own webpack changes work for you!
