urls-list's Issues

Black icon with dark theme

If Firefox is using some dark theme, the black icon appears almost invisible on the toolbar!
Would be cool if we could change the color of the icon. Or change automatically depending on the selected theme.

Thanks

Most URLs are cached, show as about:blank on FF Android

I just installed the extension on FF 63 on my Android phone, where I have 150+ tabs open, all URL's collected over a longer period of time, which I need to process on my laptop.

The problem here is that FF is doing something with old tabs, so they are not really loaded pages. You see thumbnail and title of each tab, and the page reloads when clicking it.

When invoking the plugin, all these tabs are entered as about:blank in the list. Not with their true URL. I tried clicking / reloading the old tabs, because this causes them to be included in the list properly, but unfortunately for this many tabs FF cannot handle refreshing them all and crashes (sent crash report to Mozilla).

I don't know if there is a way for the extension to get to the real URL, when this 'caching' occurs, but it would be a real improvement if it did.

"Open" of previously saved list from Mac/old firefox panicked Windows 7 quantum

Hi, Before I complain I want to thank you: I had been running FF52 for ages as I wasn't willing to lose all my grouped tabs.

With your utility on the mac I saved a plaintext list of all my tabs and emailed them to my windows 7 machine to try loading them into quantum. I did that by first viewing them in notepad. Then I deleted a few lines or urls I knew I didn't want and cut and pasted the rest.

That is when I got my blue screen of death as a whole bunch of panic messages flooded the system before it crashed.

Although I don't think any of my tabs were corrupted, I would think your utility would make sure they were safe to load... I rebooted in safe mode. Then rebooted again in normal. Did a superANTISpyware scan (which found tracking cookies..which I presume were already there but who knows) deleted them.

And then I cut and pasted ONE of my urls from your list to the browser and it came up okay.

So...long story short: the "Load" command doesn't appear safe but the application running on my mac has apparently saved several hundred urls I didn't want to lose...and now I won't! :-)

Thanks and let me know if you think you find a way to fix the unsafe "load" or need further info. I'm going to hold off on rating the app for a while. Mostly I'm just feeling grateful but think you might want to see if anyone else has a similar experience with a memory panic.

Import+Export possible from cmdline?

What I actually need is a way to import resp. export bookmarks from command line.

Something like this:

firefox.exe -import=D:\browser\urls\myurls.txt

Can the AddOn be extended to support such imports?

Please read this

Hi Moritz,

i found your addon googling the web, but i don't think it fixes my issue, moreover, i'm on palemoon
& that's for firefox. (not using webextensions), so i was wondering if you could create a quick greasemonkey script fix.

Here's the issue:

In that script fix:

For each html string below (sorry i had to add spaces to the code below because [/code] didn't work:

< i m g c l a s s = " c a r d - p r o f i l e " a l t = " R e n c o n t r e P e g 5 7 , f e m m e d e 4 4 a n s " s r c = " h t t p s : / / c d n . c e l i b a t a i r e s d u w e b . c o m / i m g / P h o t o s / A u c u n e I m a g e F e m m e . g i f " >
Or this one:
< i m g c l a s s = " c a r d - p r o f i l e " a l t = " R e n c o n t r e M e t y s s e , f e m m e d e 4 6 a n s " s r c = " h t t p s : / / c d n . c e l i b a t a i r e s d u w e b . c o m / i m g / P h o t o s / 1 6 3 8 5 7 1 0 4 9 _ 1 6 2 6 2 7 7 _ v = 1 . j p g " >

regular expression:

I want the nickname before the "," to appear after the link below

mouse hovering on pictures:

https://www.celibatairesduweb.com/Profil/

so i can drag down each image again & put it on tabs..

affected site again:

https://www.celibatairesduweb.com/NouveauxCelibataires-1.html

i can't use drag2go to open in background tab, i have to click on pictures now, which makes me loose the previous list
& loose time in my interested profiles.

[Feature request] Show counter of URLs in list (dynamically)

Feature request--show counter of URLs in list (dynamically). Just figured it would be something very simple yet useful to know for performance and workflow reasons.

P.S. Also not sure if possible, but an option to create tabs as "unloaded" tabs would be even better--keeping them in a Firefox session but not necessarily loading them for performance reasons is very useful.

[Feature Request] Dark mode

I'm using ubuntu, with gnome dark mode theme

When firefox is in dark mode, and I click to open the popup, the button texts are so light I can't read them. So basically the extension is unusable.

Please add a dark mode option. Can be toggled on/off for those who want it.

Don't exclude existing tabs from being opened

Looking at the code, it seems it's intention to exclude existing tabs from being opened from a given list. IMO this should only be an option and the default should be to open tabs in the correct order regardless of existing tabs:

  • There is no indication that existing tabs are not opened like the rest of the tabs

  • This extension has a simple purpose and UI and I don't think it's a good idea to make the default behavior unexpected and different from the expected (advertised?) behavior of simply loading all tabs in the order it was listed. Instead, the current behavior should be an option and not the default.

For my purposes, I have a lot of tabs opened and want to open a list of tabs together for context. Currently, this extension excludes opening tabs of urls I have already opened somewhere in my long list of tabs and I must hunt them down and move them to the correct position in the rest of the list of tabs that was opened. As you can imagine, this is frustrating.

[Feature request] Allow a set delay for opening each tab

Feature request--allow a set delay for opening each tab (preferably implemented in a way where you can paste a list of URLs, then set a number like 500 milliseconds (something arbitary--not sure what a good duration is), then click "open" and it will open one tab at a time with a 500 milliseconds between each tab.

My use-case was a URL list containing the xda-developers.com site--it gave an error for most of the pages:

429 Rate Limited

Whoa there, hold your horses! We've detected a lot of requests coming from your IP and have rate limited you. Please check your configuration and try again.

So I would have to go to those pages and manually refresh them to see the correct page.

I'm not sure how many sites have such limitations, so if it's not too much of a niche case then it would be quite useful.

Firefox 57 popup menu action can't write into clipboard

While clicking on (active, any) tab and selecting in the popup menu the lowest menu item "Copy URLs (All tabs)"
Firefox 57 show error messagebox:
"Error!
Cannot write to clipboard on settings tab!"

And browser console prints:
Failed to copy text: Error: An unexpected error occurred background.js:47:9

Did this work in previous versions?

android support?

install is blocked on android: addons page says the extension requires ff v55+ but the mobile app is currently @ v54

[Feature Request] Open in order

If I paste a bunch of URLs into the popup and click "Open", they are not opened in order - they are opened in some weird random order.

Please force URLs to open in the order that they are pasted?

Opening more than 2 URLs

When I paste more than 2 URLs and hit open then just first 2 URLs are opened and I need to continue to hit open button until all URLs are opened.

Is this a desired situation or limitation of FF?

Cheers

[Feature request] Add ability to open URL list in specific account container

Firefox supports multi-account containers for quite a while now.

Currently, it seems that the URLs list plugin does not support these containers. Instead when listing URLs it list the URLs of all tabs (regardless of their container). Similarly, when opening a list of URLs, they are opened without assigning them to any container.

It would be great to have the following features:

  • Select a target account container when opening a list of URLs.
  • Selectively export only the URLs assigned to a specific account container (i.e. filter the URL list for tabs that are assigned to a specific account container).

[Feature request] Automatically save list of URLs of open tabs

This simple add-on is really awesome for heavy tab users--I use it to quickly transfer Firefox "sessions" in a fool-proof manner.

A really useful feature would be if the add-on could write to a file the list of URLs and do so either in a set interval (e.g. every 5 minutes) or every time a new URL is visited or removed from the tabs. Even better is if it can feed this list for Firefox to open when it starts.

I haven't found an elegant solution to saving/ restoring Firefox sessions in a fool-proof manner (I current backup sessionstore.js periodically but since the file is only created after Firefox is terminated, if Firefox crashes then you lose the most recent session and can only restore the session before this most recent session).

Hope it's something that can be considered--what I've described might be overly complicated but anything that can achieve something similar would be really useful.

[Feature request] An option to highlight filtered results in list of URLs

When you search for a result, it is filtered where the matching results are narrowed and shown. Adding an option (like a checkbox) to disable narrowing and instead highlight the lines of all matching results would be incredibly useful for finding a tab containing the url of the matching result would be.

For example, at any given point, I have 100+ tabs opened and if I were to search for URLs containing "github" then urls-list would show me the entire list of URLs with the lines containing "github" highlighted. Then I can see approximately the position of approximately where in my tabs are github-related (e.g. if I see lots of lines be highlighted at middle of the list, then I know to scroll halfway of the entire tabs I have opened to find those tabs with github opened.

EDIT: Or better yet, a button next to each URL that when clicked will change the focus of the current tab to that associated tab containing that URL.

Visual bugs

I'm on the latest firefox dev version x64 on windows 7 x64

I noticed is that when a filter is active the buttons at the bottom get duplicated and when you scroll down the list quickly you'll see graphic glitches like duplicated urls black rectangles a ghost url cut in half at the end and more but they all disappear after a few seconds.

add new feature to load (import) urls from saved plain *.txt files or *.json files

Hi,
I'm using your addon from the beginning, and it is EXTREMLY helpful to me to save a complete history of my work by exporting the urls with the "save as" option. It would be a great enhancement to have a new option to open saved urls directly from the files that were created by the "save as" option - and not to have to open the "urls-list-xxxxx.txt", copy the content to the clipboard, paste it to the addon and to then open it. This should work for any plain *.txt files containing the urls. May be there could be an option to do the "save as" (export) and the "open from" (import) with plain *.txt files, *.json files or *.jsonlz4 files (to enhance security of the exported files a little bit).
As I save a few url-lists every day, containg 1-3 hundred urls somrtimes, you may understand perhaps how useful and great such a feature to open urls directly from saved files would be. By the way: with such an option there would be no need for me (and others) for a "session manager addon".
Please consider seriously if such a new option can be implemented.
Kind regards,
WebSkater

Request: Filters

Could you add options for the people that have a ton of tabs open and only wants only to copy some of the urls?

For example could you add filters to the list to:

  • Sort urls by alphabetical order (asc/desc)
  • Only show urls from 1 or more domains
  • Only show the first/second/third/last quarter of the urls in the list
  • Only show urls that link to files that browser opens but not download like (.jpg .gif .png .pdf .mp3 .mp4 etc)

Thanks for your time and for creating this addon.
