m32-scenes-and-presets's Issues

Introduce stereo electric guitar

We are adding an electric guitar in stereo as a default.

Steps

  • Update scene file
  • Update patch field description on rack
  • Update patch field description on stage engineer setup guide
  • Update patch field description on sound engineer setup guide

Sound of the preacher mic

Dave's voice sounds really unpleasant with the settings of 08/14/2022. The "s" sounds are very disturbing. In addition, Dave's voice has no body. I will try to upload today's scene file in a separate branch.

Distorted Bass IEM

Bass IEM is regularly distorted - it worked today to reduce the Bass IEM Bus volume (Bus 3/4).
I tried -12dB, but less reduction might work, too (-> Bass IEM output of stage box / M32 is overdriving the Fisher Amp).

proposal for Bus 15

proposal for Bus 15: let the sends of voice channels be at 0db. There is a DCA effect that operates on the bus. With current value, the DCA fader has to be high in the plus range to hear the effect kicking in. It is then challenging to fine tune the effect.

Adjust livestream settings

The sends to FX are mixed up (vocals send to room fx and vox fx). The volume to the livestream is too high and also the starting balance is not good. Gain of audience mics too low, and the volume to the livestream must be adjusted.

Gate works too strong on wireless mics

The host and preacher microphones (wireless microphones) are very sensitive for feedback loops. Therefore, we added a gate to these mics. Now, the mic is acting too strong and therefore cutting of the speech too much. We reduce the range to -12 dB so that the gate is reducing the volume just by this amount when active.

The preach sounds really dry and there is no congregation noticeable reacting to the preach and the worship.

How does the end result look like?

We have a pair of mics that can grab the sound well from the audience without catching too much sound from the speakers. The mics are easy to set up and not noticeable by the audience.

Why should we not act?

It adds another step to the setup routine. It costs quite some money. There is a risk that it only grabs enough of the audience when the mic is in sight of the stage which is very disturbing.

Additional information

On December 4th, we will have a kids choir on stage for the nativity play. For this occasion we would need microphones which we do not have in our portfolio now. We ordered 2 pairs of mics and tested them and will continue the test next Sunday. We test the Røde NTG4 and the Sennheiser MKE 600.

What do we need to do?

  • [] Update the scene file
  • [] Update the setup routine description
  • [] Update the stage engineer role description
