Client-side library for Webmaker auth
already having a require loaded, from any source not directly under your control, spectacularly ruins the party. The auth library adds the eventemitter to require, if define/define.amd exist, otherwise it adds the auth object to window scope, but that means that if require is loaded, the auth object never becomes available. This makes it very hard to implement in Thimble, which gets require "for free" by friendlycode loading it.
As self.modal.element = document.getElementById('webmaker-login-new-user')
is heavily relied on, the code should check whether that element even exists. If, after the assignment, self.modal.element is null, part of the code will crash the page instead of gracefully failing.
