skeleton's Issues

Add a graphing/autocorrelation page

Create a page that takes raw width measurements, and illustrates the effect of removing some of the autocorrelation using different methods. You could plot the raw width measurements, have a series of radio buttons with different ways to remove autocorrelation (moving average, regression, differencing), and then the data could be displayed in a second graph with the transfomation. Maybe a red line could be put on the original data graph showing the model for the regression or the MA. Not sure how you would illustrate the differencing.

Page would have directions, maybe a test scenario with example data that the user has to find the best way to remove trend, and button that allows you to transfer data to the cross-correlation page.

Add a tool for measuring ring widths

Create a new page that simulates measuring tree rings using a microscope and measurement system, like the Velmex TA system. This might use actual photographs of a tree core.

  • a background image of the core would stretch across the screen. Users could drag this left and right for course adjustments.
  • a centered, magnified image would overlay the back ground like this: =====[ | || |]======. You could drag this image too for fine adjustments.
  • a button would register a new measurement or arrow mark on the core, and record the ring width.
  • a smaller erase/clear button??
The page would explain the process and could have an example that grades your ability. A button might allow you to transfer the data to the next page, which would allow you to cross-correlate to the master record.
