Here's something I noticed when I tried getting chag into the homebrew core formulae:

The output of chag --version doesn't match the current release (Release 1.1.4, Output: 1.1.3) in https://github.com/mtdowling/chag/blob/1.1.4/chag#L14.

Would it perhaps be possible to either fix the output and recreate the tag, or create a 1.1.5 release just so that the versions match again?

PS: The formula wasn't added to homebrew-core, but I just started my own tap instead \o/.

Need to add support for parsing changelogs that use "##" for entries.

This is probably because git does by default --cleanup=strip instead of --cleanup=whitespace what would preserve also the lines that are prefixed with #.

I know developers love brevity over semantics, but you should consider renaming this project to something like changetags (as opposed to changelogs) because I know very many people in the world who will pronounce it shag not tchag and that may hinder your project in the long run.

I promise you I'm not trying to be a wee bit too sensitive about this. 😉

PS: As an added bonus changetags hints at the way this project actually works.

I think this would be a super useful command when initially getting started on writing your unreleased changelog. It could simple take the git commit messages, maybe even just the commit titles, and generate a list for you from the current commit back towards the last release tag.

Then someone could go and hand edit the changelog, scrap lines that don't need to be there, rewrite others depending on how fancy they want their changlog to be etc
but it would give you a good jumping off point when starting the unreleased changelog section
