how to add hypelink to each sub menu??

Is there a way to add an id to the Items (especially via json)?

This control is fantastic, but without the ability to set an id, it becomes cumbersome.

    items : {
        "Item A": {
                        id: 5
            ...
        },

                        id: 6
            ...
        }
