But there is no explanation about how to add more icons for other profiles and portfolio similar to Linkedin/Github.

After entirely removing the fontspec reference, I could compile the document with PdfLatex. Unless there is a need for this package, it can be dropped. I saw no further calls on any fontspec commands.

One need to set the Typeset option to -> Xelatex + MakeIndex + BibTex in order to use the required fontspec package.
