macvim don't display the current line number about numbers.vim

The yellow color current line number in the iterm2 vim.
but the macvim don't show the current line number, this aways show the zero.

@helps that is a new feature of the latest version of vim. it will show the line number of the line you are in instead of 0.

@myusuf3 So the yellow line number in the gutter is a new feature of Vim 7.4? Is there a way to customize it's appearance of turn it off?

Okay a few things I figured out after researching it.

The color is defined by CursorLineNr. Also nonumber seems to turn off the line number being absolute. I can't figure out why it wont stick after switching applications though.
