nakamotoinstitute.org's Issues

Satoshi Sourceforge posts from 2009

[bitcoin-list] Bitcoin 0.2 released
From: Satoshi Nakamoto satoshin@gm... - 2009-12-17 06:52:09

Bitcoin 0.2 is here!

Download (Windows, and now Linux version available)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/

New Features

Martti Malmi

  • Minimize to system tray option
  • Autostart on boot option so you can keep it running in the
    background automatically
  • New options dialog layout for future expansion
  • Setup program for Windows
  • Linux version (tested on Ubuntu)
    Satoshi Nakamoto
  • Multi-processor support for coin generation
  • Proxy support for use with TOR
  • Fixed some slowdowns in the initial block download

We also have a new forum at http://www.bitcoin.org/smf/

Many thanks to Martti (sirius-m) for all his development work, and to
New Liberty Standard for his help with testing the Linux version.

Add date field for literature

Change date column for literature from string to date. This may require having multiple columns for our purposes, since not all documents have month or day.

Localization

Would be great the website support other languages. I'll be willing to translate to Vietnamese.

Cypherpunk fiction index

What about an index for cypherpunk fiction? Possible entries might include

True Names - Verner Vinge
A Lodging of Wayfaring Men - Anonymous (although the real author is known, but I don't remember who that is)
Neuromancer - William Gibson
Snow Crash - Neal Stevenson
Cyberiad - Stanislaw Lem

updates?

Any updates to the blog/website regarding the bitcoin increase?

Fix selection magic on pages with special styling

I believe the way to fix it is to wrap the content in a div, as was done with Satoshi's email pages. This works locally for pages like "Shelling Out" that has special styling within the selection magic .

Gathering all private nakamoto emails

I was wondering if we could also gather all emails exchanged between
satoshi and different people, like developers and so one... ? I think that gathering all these correspondences could be valuable in understanding Nakamoto"s thinking, and since they
are of historical value, maybe it's not a real concern anymore that they are private ?

What do you think to make a call for participation for this project ? Maybe in bitcointalk ...

Eager to know your view on this matter :)

Lack of HTTPS/SSL

Currently, SNI runs on HTTP, without support for encrypted connections. Are there any plans to implement this? It can be done for free and very easily with Let's Encrypt.

Finney

Missing from the Literature is Finney's RPOW (thanks for archiving history, by the way). It used to be on this site and accessible via web-archive, but it seems to be gone: http://rpow.net/

I haven't been able to find the old RPOW page, but here is a list of articles of his:
