foxess_modbus_charge_period_card's Issues

Mismatched sensor naming between foxess_modbus integration and this lovelace card

Version of the custom_component

v1.0.1

Configuration

Installed and successfully running https://github.com/nathanmarlor/foxess_modbus [v1.7.2](https://github.com/nathanmarlor/foxess_modbus/releases/tag/v1.7.2)

Describe the bug

  • Installed and successfully ran https://github.com/nathanmarlor/foxess_modbus v1.7.2
  • During the above installation chose a friendly name of "foxess 485 modbus"
  • This resulted in sensors being created without the friendly name in the sensor name itself, but in the display name - not a problem in and of itself - everything works really well and I can see the data from the Invertor.
  • Installed this lovelace card
  • Setup the card in a Dashboard
  • The dashboard fails with the following errors:

image

  • I suspect this is a mismatch issue. The lovelace card is expecting the sensor name to have the defined friendly name to be prepended to the sensor names, but the integration doesn't do this.

This is all great work and I'm happy to help in anyway I can with any beta versions/reviews etc - just let me know, thanks!

Debug log

N/A

no inverter Present in dropdown menu

I am stuck in the step "Select your inverter using the drop-down". no inverter is present. I installed both integrations and the sensors are populated. I restarted home assistant multiple times and even used different browsers and cleared the cache. I even tried to add the inverter in the YAML code of the card. no succes.
I have an AIO H3 8 connected to modbus usb.
Thanks for all the work you did regarding this!

Card not available for setup in Dashboard

Version of the custom_component

v1.0.0
HA 2023.8.1 (did not work on 2023.7.x)

Configuration

Installed it through HACS as described in the README

Describe the bug

The integration is installed via HACS without errors, but the card is just not available when trying to add a new card to any dashboard. I don't see the card, and I don't have a pop-up asking which inverter to add.
